Léa Godallier and Laura Lujan are the first to validate their ticket for the quarter-finals of the FIP Silver Port of BandolOn the central court of the Port, the Franco-Spanish pair won against the Spanish Guimet / Pozuelo, not without difficulty.

While we expected a rather easy match for the number 3 seed, the favorites made things difficult for themselves, particularly in a second set where they had to put aside 11 break points and miss 8 match points before concluding.

Lea Godallier:
We can't afford to miss this second set. We're obviously blaming ourselves, because we could have been drawn into a third set against players who can be dangerous. Luckily for us, they also made mistakes and weren't able to take advantage of our slowdown. So much the better... but we have to do much better in the next round.

Laura Lujan:
Tactically, we got a bit lost. After winning the first set easily, we let our guard down. And that's what can happen. This time, there were no consequences, but we still saved a set point in the second. That kind of slacking off can be costly.

Lea Godallier:
There is no doubt that if our coach Baptiste had been there, he would have rung the bells for us to stay focused! We must use this match as a reminder: when we have the opportunity to kill a match, we have to do it. It is by really getting into the tournament now that we can go far.

The Godallier / Lujan pair will face the winners of Laura Buteau / Freya Tordoff in 3 sets: the 9th seed, Perez Parra / Alonso de Lerae. An ideal opportunity to confirm the ambitions displayed...
