Fran Guerrero and Javi Leal  will be there for the  FIP Platinum Lyon From September 21st to 27th. Recently reformed, the two Spaniards will be, for the time being  seeded 1  and will naturally be among the top favorites to win the title.

A pair that arrives with real credentials this season and already has a particularly happy memory in France.

A reformation that works

Guerrero and Leal had decided to reunite after having already shared the track in the past. And the choice quickly paid off.

Since their return together, the two Spaniards have accumulated  several quarter-finals a semi-final, but above all a big  final at Pretoria P1 .

Their journey had been particularly remarkable: they had successively eliminated  Tapia / Coello then  Lebrón / Augsburger before pushing  Galan / Chingotto  until the tie-break of the third set in the final.

A week that confirmed the full potential of this partnership, with two particularly aggressive players capable of competing with the very best pairs.

A more complicated restart before bouncing back in Paris

After the summer break, the return to competition had been more difficult.  Madrid Guerrero/Leal had been eliminated in their first match.

But to  Paris Major They quickly regained their form. In their opening match, they won.  6/3 7/6 against Federico Mouriño / Marc Quílez , confirming their place in the round of 16.

This should help them regain confidence before the end of September, which will notably take them to Lyon.

Leal wants to do better than his 2025 semi-final

Le  FIP Platinum Lyon  This is not a discovery for Javi Leal.

Last season, the Spaniard had already played in the tournament alongside  Martín Di Nenno Their journey had come to an end in  semi final .

This time, the objective will therefore necessarily be to go further.

Associated with Guerrero and with the provisional status of  seeded 1 Leal will have a real opportunity to compete for the title. But the path ahead looks far from simple.

High competition

Behind Guerrero / Leal, several big pairs are already registered.

Among other things, we will find  Martín Di Nenno / Juan Tello reformed exceptionally for the tournament, but also  Momo González / Lucas Campagnolo .

Many players are used to the final rounds on Premier Padel and capable of competing for the Lyon title.

Guerrero / Leal will therefore have their status to live up to, but they have already shown that they know how to perform in this type of tournament.

France suits them rather well

Because France already holds a special place in the recent history of this pair.

At the start of the season,  Guerrero and Leal had teamed up specifically for the FIP Platinum Marseille A one-off partnership that worked perfectly since they won the title.

Since then, their project has been reformed in a more sustainable way.

A few months after Marseille, here they are back in France with another opportunity to lift a Platinum trophy.

Can they achieve the Marseille-Lyon double?

Response from the  21 27 in September , with a Guerrero/Leal pairing that will clearly arrive in Lyon to play for the title.

Benjamin Dupouy

I discovered padel directly during a tournament, and frankly, I didn't really like it at first. But the second time, it was love at first sight, and since then, I haven't missed a single match. I'm even ready to stay up until 3am to watch a final of Premier Padel !
