Cyril Hanouna and Jérôme Inzerillo have confirmed their desire to participate together in the  2025 French Padel Championships , whose  qualifications in Île-de-France  will be held on June 27 and 28. A “surprise” announcement made at the end of an intense weekend at  WinWin P2000 Padel Cabriès , where the pair came close to a feat during the group stage, narrowly missing out on a place in the main draw against Joshua Schebeir and Sébastien Peauchat (6/2 6/4).

One last defeat, but many lessons learned

 Jerome Inzerillo  : We played a big second match, very intense, and at the end I felt a little bit of a strain in my hamstring. The last match was very tough, against two players who were playing very well. I tried to do my best, but it was tough. We weren't far behind in the second set, we could have bothered them more.

 Cyril Hanouna  : In the first set, we struggled to get into the match. Then, in the second, we had chances that we didn't convert. They didn't miss. They played very well.

 Cyril Hanouna  : At 15/15, I feel like if I push myself too hard, my shoulder will come loose. So I'm taking it easy. We started the match with me having shoulder pain, him with thigh pain... that's a lot. Seb makes zero mistakes, Josh can save shots from elsewhere. It's complicated in these conditions.

 Jerome Inzerillo  : The conditions changed too. At the end of the day, with the shade and the cold windows, the points lasted longer. But above all, I think we left a lot of energy in the first two matches.

 Cyril Hanouna  : Especially the second one. And going on 45 minutes later with pain, you inevitably have less intensity, less intention. We go slower, we hit less hard... so we struggle more.

The progression of a duo taking shape

 Cyril Hanouna  : Teo is a friend, but Jérôme is my brother. Honestly, we're very happy with the level of play. That's what matters. I don't care about the ranking; what I want is to improve.

 Jerome Inzerillo  : We train together every week. And it's starting to pay off. In the second match, we were down 5/2 in the second set, and we won 7/5. Against Mathias and Mathieu, players who play very well. That's no small feat.

 Cyril Hanouna  : We're happy, but a little disappointed. Josh and Seb are on a level. We just wish we were at 100% to play them better.

The importance of coaching

 Cyril Hanouna  : We want to thank our coach. He was incredible. At 6/2 in the first set with the injuries, we could have given up. But he got us back into it. Even in the match against Mathias and Mathieu, when we were behind, he told us we could go for the set. He was invaluable mentally.

 Jerome Inzerillo  : Even tactically. What he told us between sets, we applied in the second, and it worked. Having an outside perspective changes everything. It also gives you energy when you don't have any left.

An immediate chain of events

 Journalist  : Next tournament?

 Cyril Hanouna  : Tomorrow! P500 to Marne-la-Coquette, to Forest Hill. We're going back to Paris. We're going to recover, sleep well, eat well. We're pros, we're not giving up!

 Jerome Inzerillo  : We're moving on. It's the rhythm.

French Championships in sight

 Jerome Inzerillo  : We are playing the qualifiers together in Île-de-France, on June 27 and 28.

 Cyril Hanouna  We know it's tough. But we'll prepare well to perform. We'll keep training, keep improving, and see how far we can go. We're not giving up.
