The Bordeaux public dreamed of it, but the explosive semi-final between Tapia / Coello et Navarro / Bergamini will ultimately not take place. A few hours before the highly anticipated clash, Paquito Navarro has announced his withdrawal, victim of a acute low back pain.
Already yesterday, at the end of the quarter-finals, The Andalusian player had shown signs of back pain, struggling to bend down. But with his well-known determination, he gritted his teeth to finish the match and qualify his pair for the last four. Unfortunately, after a cold spell and medical tests in the evening, the diagnosis was made: compulsory rest.
On his networks, Paquito shared his disappointment:
Hello everyone, much to my regret, I will not be able to play in the Bordeaux semi-finals today. Acute lower back pain is preventing me from doing so. It's sad, because we were playing at a very good level and the feeling was excellent. Thanks to Lucas Bergamini, Juanjo Gutierrez, Ramiro Choya for your constant support, and to the entire Premier/FIP team for their attention. It's time to take the best possible care so I can be ready for Malaga.
It is a huge blow to the tournament, because the Navarro / Bergamini pair impressed since the beginning of the week, and this poster against the number 1s Tapia / Coello promised a very big show. The poster is therefore canceled, and Tapia and Coello are directly qualified for the final from Bordeaux P2.
It remains to be hoped that Paquito will be able to recover in time for the P1 of Malaga, in two weeks. In the meantime, Bordeaux loses one of its favorites... and a semi-final that could have been unforgettable.

I discovered padel directly during a tournament, and frankly, I didn't really like it at first. But the second time, it was love at first sight, and since then, I haven't missed a single match. I'm even ready to stay up until 3am to watch a final of Premier Padel !
