HEAD continues its expansion in the Australian market. The leading racquet sports brand has announced that it will be the official supplier of racquets and balls for the first-ever “The Padel The Invitational, presented by UBS, will take place on August 15th and 16th at the foot of the iconic Sydney Opera House. This partnership illustrates HEAD's ambition to support the growth of padel in a rapidly expanding market.
A unique event in an iconic location
For two days, the Sydney Opera House Northern Boardwalk will be transformed into a padel court, providing an exceptional setting for this unique event.
By partnering with this event, HEAD will make its expertise and equipment available to support both professional players and the numerous activities intended for the general public.
For Nick Sloman As the tournament's executive producer, this first edition aims to introduce padel to as many people as possible:
“Major brands are investing in padel today because it uniquely combines sport, lifestyle, and culture. Our ambition is to create the world’s most iconic padel event and firmly establish this sport on the Australian entertainment map.”
Pat Rafter headlining
The event will bring together several top Australian players, including the presence of Pat rafter .
The former world number one tennis player, now a member of the Australian national padel team, will lead a field composed of international players and the best local talent.
Among the HEAD ambassadors expected on the slopes will be, in particular Andrea Melisi , Australian number one among men, Alexia Dalley , number three nationally, as well as Mar Munera , junior world champion with Spain and Spanish U16 champion.
HEAD wants to support the growth of Australian padel
Beyond competition, HEAD also wants to invest in the development of local padel.
The brand will participate in the activities organized around the event, support the finals reserved for the best players from Australian clubs, and offer discovery sessions open to the public. Visitors will also be able to test the brand's latest rackets, identical to those used on the professional circuit, notably by Arturo Coello .
For Jordi Vives , head of the international tour at HEAD, this approach goes beyond the simple framework of a sports partnership:
“Padel has become a global phenomenon. Seeing it arrive in such an iconic location as the Sydney Opera House perfectly illustrates its development. Our commitment is not limited to the professional circuit: we want to support the growth of padel at all levels and allow new players to discover this sport with the best possible equipment.”
A further step in the expansion of padel
With more than 38 million practitioners worldwide Padel continues its international development.
Through this partnership with The Padel Invitational but also alongside Padel Australia , Premier Padel and International Federation of Padel (FIP) HEAD confirms its commitment to playing a major role in the sustainable establishment of padel in Australia, a market considered one of the most promising for the years to come.
