The team of France Ladies and Gentlemen have finished 7e (in French only) at World Championships Padel 2024 in Qatar. A result that was not necessarily planned in the program. Let us also take a look at the prize money to see if the players still come out on top.
For two years, the FIP (International Federation of Padel) distributes 500 000 € to the 16 nations present in the main board, divided equally between the Ladies and Gentlemen competitions. This distribution began in Dubai and logically continued in Qatar. In concrete terms, this means that 250 000 € are allocated for each category, which each includes 16 nations and generally 8 players and a captain (even if some nations sometimes come with fewer players or without a captain).
Finishing 7e, the France has won 32 500 € (i.e. €16 for each 250th place obtained by the Ladies and Gentlemen teams). With 7 players and 16 captains, this corresponds individually to €1 per person. It's a pretty good move when you consider that in a tournament IFJ Star, for example, the winning pair hits 2 500 €Either 1 250 € per player.
Note that the prize money is technically intended for national federations, who then decide whether or not to redistribute it to the players.
