It is establishing itself as one of the fastest-growing sports in France. But How much does a padel court actually earn? ? And what is the economic reality Private centers?
Data from the 2nd edition of the Observatory of Padel 2025led by the Union Sport & Cycle with the support of the FFT and Padel Magazineallow for the first time to be drawn a precise photograph of the economic model.
An average turnover of €80,000 per track per year
According to a study conducted with 200 private clubs and FFT clubs, a padel court generates on average:
€80,000 incl. VAT / year / track
This amount represents the national average, across all zones.
The study, however, emphasizes strong geographical disparities :
- The centers urban and suburban (notably Paris, Lyon, Bordeaux, Nantes) record significantly higher turnover figures.
- The structures located in rural areas or in the provinces display lower averages.
Clear : Location remains the primary factor in economic performance.
6,000 players per lane per year: a high usage rate
A padel court typically accommodates: 6,000 players per year
This volume reflects a sector where visitor numbers have continued to grow since 2020.
Indoor centers, which are very popular in the evenings and on weekends, pull the average up even further.

An average occupancy rate of 56%
The national occupancy rate is estimated at: 56%
This figure confirms that Padel enjoys an excellent level of popularity. for a sport that is still young in France.
Please note:
- The centers 100% indoor padel display the best rates.
- Multi-activity clubs and outdoor facilities are recording significantly lower rates.
An attractive economic model… but variable
The study points out that these figures should be interpreted with caution:
- The sample remains limited even if it is representative.
- The differences between centers are very significant, sometimes by a factor of three.
- The indoor/outdoor mix strongly influences profitability.
Despite this, the observation is clear:
Padel is currently one of the most profitable sports per square meter for a private manager, thanks to the high frequency of play and the dynamics of the players.
A market supported by a growing base of practitioners
According to the Observatory of Padel :
- France now has 850 practitioners in 2025.
- The target of one million could be reached as early as 2026.
- 5,520 players were surveyed to analyze their practice and consumption habits.
This is explained by :
- more bookings,
- an increase in rotations per runway,
- an increase in equipment/brand consumption.
Exceptional economic momentum
Between a Average revenue of €80,000 per track, a high attendance and fill level greater than 50%Padel confirms that it has become a true economic engine for private clubs.
The rise in the number of players, the growing demand for indoor courts, and the arrival of structured investors show that the market has not yet reached its full potential.
Padel is profitable. And it will continue to be profitable.
