In Pessac, in the heart of the Bordeaux university campus, the project  Humanities Village  It positions itself as a new kind of student residence. Scheduled for delivery in September 2026, this project, led in particular by the University of Bordeaux, aims to go beyond the simple framework of accommodation to offer a true living space.

Culture, sport, nature: a global vision

The program is based on three strong pillars:
 culture , with architecture inspired by the humanities;
 sport , with integrated spaces from the ground floor to the rooftop;
 nature , thanks to green facades and urban micro-forests.

This approach reflects an evolution in the expectations of students, who are now seeking hybrid environments that combine well-being, physical activity and social connection.

Among the project's stakeholders, Moon Safari Architecture brings a distinctive signature. The firm, led by Jean-Luc Baldelli, is well-known within the padel ecosystem.

 Big fan of padel Jean-Luc Baldelli has already been involved as a partner in major events, notably around the former FIP Big tournament Padel Bordeaux, as well as on the  Bordeaux P2 , a stage in the professional circuit.

A padel court under consideration?

In this context, a question naturally arises:  Could padel find its way into the heart of Humanities Village?  (source SudOuest)

In light of the project's focus—strong integration of sport into architecture—and the commitment of its partners,  The hypothesis of an integrated padel court, possibly on the rooftop or linked to neighboring facilities, seems credible. .

Without an official announcement at this stage, this prospect is part of a broader trend: that of a  urbanization of padel , which is now finding its place in mixed-use real estate projects, whether university or residential.

A project to follow closely

With Humanities Village, the Bordeaux campus could take a further step in integrating sport into students' daily lives. And if padel were to find its place there, it would further confirm the growing importance of the sport in major urban development projects.
