It had become one of the most fragile associations in the Top 10 in recent weeks. After several months of results below expectations,  Franco Stupaczuk  has officially announced the end of its association with  mike yanguas , just a few hours after their elimination in the first round of the  London P1  facing the qualifiers  José Solano  et  Ramiro Pereyra  (6/7 6/4 6/1).

A separation that seemed inevitable given the recent dynamics of the pair.

A second attempt that never really took off.

After a promising first collaboration in 2024, the two men decided to reform their pair at the beginning of the 2026 season with a clear objective: to establish themselves permanently among the best teams in the world and compete for titles.

However, the results remain insufficient.

Si  Stupaczuk  et  Yanguas  reached  a final  et  six semi-finals Most of them at the beginning of the season, they never managed to consistently beat the best pairs on the circuit. They also win the  FIP Platinum Albania , but on the circuit  Premier Padel The results are far from the stated ambitions.

As the tournaments progressed, their confidence eroded, until they lost their place among the top three pairs in the world to...  Juan Lebrón  et  Leo Augsburg .

 Increasingly visible tensions

Beyond the results, it was above all the impression left on the field that was striking.

Disagreements were becoming increasingly frequent, particularly between  mike yanguas  and their coach  Carlos Pozzoni During their defeat in London, cameras again captured several tense exchanges during the changeovers.

The two players also seemed to have different visions of the game. The complementarity seen during their first partnership was no longer present, with each regularly displaying their frustration.

 Stupaczuk confirms the separation

It was ultimately the Argentinian who made the news official on his social media.

"Our paths diverge once again, and we are ending our adventure together. I wish you all the best. Personally, big changes are coming."

In another message,  Stupaczuk  also explained his absence to  Pretoria P1 revealing that he had suffered from acute gastroenteritis a few days before his departure for South Africa.

 Who with whom in Madrid?

One month before  Madrid P1 No new partnership has yet been officially announced.

But this separation could trigger a new domino effect on the market for pairs.

Among the most credible scenarios is a separation from  Javi Garrido  et  Lucas Bergamini They too have been in difficulty for several months.

A return of the pair  Mike Yanguas / Javi Garrido Having already teamed up in the past, this appears to be a possibility. The two Spaniards know each other very well and could try to revive their careers together.

At the same time,  Franco Stupaczuk  could turn to  Lucas Bergamini , an experienced, consistent player capable of bringing more stability to the Argentinian.

For now, these are only hypotheses and no agreement has been announced. One thing is certain: the separation of  Stupaczuk  et  Yanguas  should lead to another game of musical chairs before the season resumes at  Madrid , early September.

Benjamin Dupouy

I discovered padel directly during a tournament, and frankly, I didn't really like it at first. But the second time, it was love at first sight, and since then, I haven't missed a single match. I'm even ready to stay up until 3am to watch a final of Premier Padel !
