Giulia Dal Pozzo  continues his dream week at  BNL Italy Major Premier Padel After becoming the first Italian to reach the quarterfinals of a Major, the 20-year-old took another step forward by qualifying for the semifinals of the Rome tournament alongside the Spaniard  Nuria Rodriguez .

On the Pietrangeli court at the Foro Italico, the Italian-Spanish pair delivered another benchmark performance by eliminating  Claudia fernandez  et  Sofia Araujo , respectively 6th and 8th ranked players in the world, with a score of  3/6 6/3 6/2 .

A comeback that changes everything

For more than a set, the scenario seemed to favor Fernandez and Araujo. More solid in the crucial moments and better settled into the match, the two players controlled the proceedings and were still leading.  6 / 3 3 / 1 .

But the exchanges remained hard-fought and the difference between the two teams seemed less significant than the score suggested.

From that moment on, the game completely turned around. Dal Pozzo and Rodriguez gradually took control of the exchanges, multiplying quality defenses and considerably reducing their number of unforced errors.

On the other side, Fernandez and Araujo lost their rhythm and confidence as the games went on.

Total domination in the last two sets

The momentum became irresistible for the young Italian and her partner. Between the end of the second set and the beginning of the third, they strung together an impressive series of consecutive games, quickly taking a decisive lead.

This qualification marks a new turning point in the Italian's career. Relatively unknown to the general public just a few months ago, Dal Pozzo is now guaranteed a spectacular rise in the world rankings.

The Italian player is expected to join the  Top 30 worldwide  during the next FIP ​​ranking update and is even approaching the status of number 1 in Italy, currently held by  Carolina orsi .

A huge challenge against the world's number ones
