The fourth day of the BNL Italy Major Premier Padel offered a high-level spectacle on the center court of the Foro Italico. In an atmosphere worthy of the event, the last eight pairs remaining in the competition engaged in intense battles, with matches often decided on a few key points. The presence of IOC President Thomas Bach, alongside Luigi Carraro, President of the FIP, added a strong institutional dimension to this day of padel.

Leal and Guerrero reach their first Major semi-final

In the men's competition, the performance of the day was that of Javi Leal and Fran Guerrero. In only their third tournament together, the two players reached a semi-final on the tour for the first time. Premier Padel, a particularly significant milestone for Leal, who had never reached the quarter-finals at this level.

Facing fourth-seeded Coki Nieto and Mike Yanguas, Leal and Guerrero turned a bad situation around. Beaten in the first set, they came back to win after a two-hour-and-4-minute match: 5/7, 6/3, 7/6. For Guerrero, this is his second Major semifinal, after Kuwait in 2023.

The duo will face world number ones Arturo Coello and Agustín Tapia this Saturday, who beat Paquito Navarro and Lucas Bergamini in two controlled sets: 1/6, 4/6.

The second semi-final will pit Ale Galán and Federico Chingotto, winners 7/6, 6/3 over Álex Arroyo and Íñigo Jofre, against the pair formed by Juan Lebrón and Franco Stupaczuk, who defeated Momo González and Jon Sanz after a decisive super tie-break.

Guinart and Iglesias in the last four

In the women's draw, Marina Guinart and Victoria Iglesias continued their impressive run. In the quarterfinals, they ended the adventure of Marta Caparrós and Marta Barrera with a score of 6/3, 6/3. Seeded 11th, the two Spaniards are competing in their first Major semifinal.

They will meet Delfina Brea and Gemma Triay, who largely dominated Tamara Icardo and Claudia Jensen (6/3, 6/1), after inflicting a double 6/0 on their opponent in the previous round.

In the other half of the draw, tournament favorites Ari Sánchez and Paula Josemaría had to work hard to eliminate Marta Ortega and Alejandra Alonso in a close match: 7/6, 5/7, 6/2. They will face Bea González and Delfi Brea, who put up a solid performance against Bea Caldera and Carmen Goenaga (6/2, 6/3).
