A year off after a serious health problem

In 2025, Carmen Castillón's career came to an abrupt end during a FIP circuit tournament in Romania. Suffering from several pulmonary infarctions, the Andalusian player had to put her career on hold for many months to focus entirely on her health.

This was a particularly difficult setback for the 24-year-old Spaniard, who was then forced to withdraw from the Italy Major, one of the most prestigious events of the season.

An emotional return to the Foro Italico

Twelve months later, fate offered her a second chance. Partnered with  Maria Portillo Castillón managed to qualify for the main draw after a convincing victory against the Italians  Stellato / Sussarello  in the final round of qualifying, 6/1, 6/4.

A success with strong symbolic significance that provoked a strong emotion in the Spanish player, who was unable to hold back her tears when celebrating her qualification.

The adventure continues in Rome

And the story didn't end there. They faced each other in the first round of the main draw at the French Open.  Carla Toully  and the Spanish  Amanda Lopez Carmen Castillón and María Portillo confirmed their excellent form by winning in two sets  6 / 4, 7 / 6 .
