It only took a few words to confirm a trend already visible in recent days. Javi Leal announced the end of his partnership with Pablo Cardona via his social media, in a message that was both clear-sighted and measured.
A separation that is not solely due to sporting choices, but above all to a complicated physical situation for Cardona.
An injury that changes everything
The project between the two Spaniards had generated real expectations at the start of the season. But ultimately, it never had the time to fully develop.
Having suffered a knee injury for several months, Pablo Cardona attempted to hasten his return to competition. This decision was ultimately deemed premature. The player recently announced he is taking another break to focus entirely on his recovery and return at 100%.
Under these conditions, separation appears as a logical consequence of a situation that has become unstable.
Leal expresses his regrets
In his message, Javi Leal does not hide a certain frustration linked to this project being interrupted too soon:
"It's a shame we weren't able to get the full performance I think we had together on the pitch."
He also emphasizes the untapped potential of the pair:
"I still feel there was much more to build on, and I have this slight regret of not having been able to fully demonstrate it."
Despite this premature end, the tone remains calm. Leal emphasizes the positive aspects of their collaboration:
"Despite everything, I greatly value all that we have shared and the work we have accomplished together."
He concluded by leaving the door open for the future:
"I'm sure our paths will cross again in the future. I wish you all the best for the future, both on and off the field."
A new chapter begins… while we wait for something better.
This separation therefore takes place in a particular context, where the priority clearly remains Pablo Cardona's health. The Spanish player has chosen to stop competing again to rebuild himself physically and consider the next stage of his career with greater certainty.
As for Javi Leal, we know what happened next, since he will be returning to a former partner…
