When one of the greatest players of all time speaks about his former teammate, his words inevitably carry a special weight. In an interview given to  salepor3 ,  Juan Martín Díaz  looked back on his incredible adventure with  Fernando Belasteguín whom he still considers to be the greatest player in the history of padel.

Between  2002 and 2014 The two Argentinians built the greatest dynasty in the history of professional padel. Together, they reigned supreme on the circuit for  13 consecutive seasons as world number 1 , a record that remains unbroken.

Among their many achievements is a series that has become legendary:  One year and nine months without a single defeat .

"Bela had everything"

For Juan Martín Díaz, Belasteguín's greatness is not limited to his titles or statistics.

"I think that between his physical condition, his mental strength, and his ability to always play the right shot at the right time, Bela has been the best padel player to date."

A strong statement from someone who shared more than a decade alongside the "Boss" and who experienced firsthand the Argentinian's exacting standards and constant quest for perfection.

The former world number 1 also spoke about the four men who currently dominate the circuit.

While he does not hide his admiration for  Agustín Tapia He emphasizes the Argentinian's unique talent:

"I love watching Agus play because he has magic in his hands."

He then mentioned  Arturo Coello  et  Alejandro Galán which he describes as veritable war machines:

"Then there are two robots like Coello and Galán who destroy you every time they touch the ball."

Finally, he reserved a special compliment for  Federico Chingotto whose game intelligence he admires:

"For me, he's the one who understands this sport best."

The legacy of the greatest pair in history

At a time when the circuit is experiencing one of the most competitive periods in its history with the ongoing duel between Tapia-Coello and Galán-Chingotto, Juan Martín Díaz's words remind us of the immense legacy left by his generation.

Thirteen years at the top, a dominance never seen since, and records that still stand today: for Juan Martín Díaz, despite the emergence of an exceptional new generation,  Fernando Belasteguín remains the absolute benchmark in world padel .
