Padel Magazine - This 1st article devoted to ”Zoom on the players” had to be reserved for the 2 best players than the padel have never known:
JUAN MARTIN DIAZ and FERNANDO BELASTEGUIN.

These 2 photos perfectly summarize the superiority of DIAZ and BELASTEGUIN over the padel current. The first dates from 2002, the second from 2012. The DIAZ BELASTEGUIN pair have dominated the professional circuit head and shoulders for 11 years.

If Juan Martin and Fernando started playing together on the professional circuit from 2002, they both already had a lot of experience since Fernando started his professional career in 1995 at the age of 15. Juan Martin will be waiting for the 1997 year to focus on his professional career. Since 2002, Juan Martin and Fernando thus cumulate the rewards, one example among many others, between September 2005 and May 2007, they have won 22 consecutive tournaments.

But this superiority is absolutely not harmful to the Padel. Juan Martin and Fernando are the initiators of a padel in constant progression. Juan Martin Diaz, of a less expressive nature than Fernando Belasteguin, is recognized by his peers for having invented many technical gestures today reproduced by all. More than partners, his 2 players understand each other with their eyes closed and are as strong technically as they are tactically.

Even if they are no longer all young (34 years old for Fernando and 37 years old for Juan Martin) and that new very young pairs are forming (such as Sanyo and Maxi), Belasteguin and Diaz can legitimately hope to continue collecting trophies. Just take a look at the results of the professional circuit this year: In 2013 out of 11 tournaments played so far, Juan Martin and Fernando participated in 8 finals and won 7 !!!
