Will Jules Marie ever be able to play for  the French padel team  ? In any case, this is a question that the Bordeaux P2 qualifying commentator, Mario Cordero, and Thomas Vaubance asked themselves during the match between Timéo Fonteny / Yoan Boronad and Julien Seurin / Philémon Raichman at the Bordeaux P2.

As we know, Jules Marie, a former professional tennis player, has been progressing quite quickly in padel over the past few years. He will be ranked in the top 20 French tennis players in 2024 with a  203th place in the world , the Frenchman aims to climb the ladder and become a potential French Top 10 padel player. At that point, the question of the French team will certainly be more legitimate. Does Jules Marie have the same level as Thomas Vaubance today?

Jules Marie overrated?

Since his beginnings in padel, some may perhaps think that French padel is only about him or  Cyril Hanouna . These are well-known names that come up often, for example, during the Bordeaux P2 qualifiers. Mario Cordero and Thomas Vaubance would tend to find Jules Marie perhaps a little overrated. “For the moment,  he is very well off in terms of partners  in all the tournaments he does. He plays with players who have been playing for a very long time and who have great results. I find it hard to believe that  in 2/3 years, it will be in the French Top 10 ", says Thomas. Mario Cordero agrees with Thomas about Jules' teammates: "He's being dragged along, he wins a P500 in Bordeaux with Benjamin Grué."

 Please note , in this exchange, note that there is a  deep respect  for all these  talented players from tennis  who are taking up padel. This sport is not lacking in examples, particularly within  The french team , which has former  good or even very good tennis players . We can therefore say that with  the hand and physique of Jules Marie , everything becomes possible.

Not so impressive progress

Coming from tennis, Jules Marie climbed the ranks quite quickly, starting from the smallest tournaments to today winning P500s. In the commentary, Mario makes a comparison with  Nicolas Rouanet , who managed to quickly climb the rankings: “He succeeded  in one year to earn from P25 to P1000 , maybe Jules can do that, but  It's still complicated ".

Indeed, as Thomas says, Nicolas's progression is more striking than Jules'. "It's not the same to win several P1000s with Norman Sanchez as it is to make a P1500 semi-final with Jérôme Inzerillo."

Indeed, former French national team player Jérôme Inzerillo is still one of the best French players. And obviously, the idea would be to see Jules Marie capable of repeating these performances over time with players of the same level.

 One thing is sure  : the fact that  Jules Mary  has thrown himself into padel seems  excite his fans . It's  new life  and total  new passion  that are offered to him. And perhaps he will succeed in obtaining a  selection for the French team , where, precisely, he had not been able to achieve it in tennis.

In view of his  investment  and its  past of former professional tennis player , we can only  wish it to him .
