The first day of qualifying at Kuwait Premier Padel P1 was complicated for the French, with only, Thomas Leygue and his Spanish teammate Alvaro Montiel, who won. The other French players involved were all eliminated in their first match.
The results :
- Johan Bergeron (131) et Bastien Blanqué (119) were beaten by the number 7 seed in qualifying, Toni Bueno (90) et Antonio Luque (83), on a score of 6 / 1 6 / 2.
- Manuel Vives (148) and its Spanish partner Sergio Icardo (137) suffered a similar defeat, losing 6 / 1 6 / 3 face Pablo Castillo Valverde (121) et Candido Jorge Alfaro (143)
- Dylan Guichard (119) and the Belgian Clement Geens (100) lost in three sets against Ignatius Piotto (82) et Adrian Marques (106), with a score of 6/1 1/6 6/3.
Julien Seurin et Maxime Moreau did not show up for the tournament, allowing Ferran Insa Sotillo et Adria Mercadal to move on to the next round without playing.
Thomas Leygue et Alvaro Montiel are therefore the only ones still in the running. They won their match against Flavio Abbate (115) et Giulio Graziotti (113) in three sets, 3/6 6/3 6/3. They will face tomorrow Toni Bueno et Antonio Luque, whom they had already beaten last week in Dubai. The match is scheduled for 4th rotation from 10am on court 3.
In the ladies, Carla Toully (95) will start qualifying tomorrow at 10h on court 3, alongside his Spanish partner Anna Dominguez (76). They will be opposed to Laura Lujan (73) et Martha Arellano (68)
The full program for tomorrow:
I discovered padel directly during a tournament, and frankly, I didn't really like it at first. But the second time, it was love at first sight, and since then, I haven't missed a single match. I'm even ready to stay up until 3am to watch a final of Premier Padel !
