At 46 years,  Miguel Lamperti  continues to amaze. The Argentinian, a living legend of world padel, seems to have found a new way to extend his career:  changing sides .

A strategic change

Long positioned on the left, where power and initiative are expected, Lamperti has recently made a tactical shift by playing  to the right of the track , we will soon find him alongside young players like  Alex Chozas  in Bordeaux, or even  Juan Tello  in Valladolid.

A logical evolution for someone whose reading of the game, experience and quality of hand can  shine in a way other than forcing the game . He who was known mainly for his  powerful and spectacular game,  a very style  energy-consuming and demanding  over time. Facing increasingly explosive young players  physically and powerful on the smash , Miguel must face the facts in  adapting his game .

In the footsteps of Fernando Belasteguín

This repositioning recalls that of another monument of Argentine padel:  Fernando Belasteguín . At the end of his career,  “Bela”  had also chosen to  go right , to continue playing at the highest level while adapting to the  increasing physical demands of the circuit .

Like Lamperti today, Belasteguín had known  finding the balance between game intelligence, experience and leadership , leaving the power and aggressiveness on the left side to his young partners.

This parallel highlights a shared longevity strategy:  evolve your role to continue winning  or at least to travel the main circuit and the most beautiful tournaments in the world.

A response to physical reality

Even though Lamperti remains sharp,  time imposes its rules . Faced with an increasingly athletic generation, adopting the role of right-wing player allows the Argentinian to  limit explosive efforts , while maintaining a decisive influence in the game.

A coherent repositioning, more in line with its current qualities:  vision, precision and management of weak times .

 Miguel Lamperti  By making this choice, he once again shows his deep love for padel and his undeniable passion for high-level competition,  47 years , it is still not in the plans of the Argentinian to end his career  !
