Alix Collombon and Léa Godallier have become French champions 2024 after a final that almost tipped in favor of Carla Touly and Jessica Ginier. The latter have once again proven that they are making progress.

However, after this defeat in the final, there is inevitably disappointment, even a feeling of frustration for Touly and Ginier. Indeed, Alix and Léa were not 100% physically, and the tears after the match revealed the anguish they were able to feel throughout this encounter.

As Léa Godallier expressed after the match, both players wondered if they should stop before it had consequences on their international careers. “At one point, we said to ourselves: do we think about our international career or do we give everything for this title?”

The rest is history: Alix and Léa fought until the end to win their fourth title. As they explained, their goal is now clear: to participate in the next Major which will be held in one of the temples of world sport, Roland-Garros.
