Le FIP Silver Narbonne will welcome an interesting new association to the women's table. Léa Godallier (French number 2) will team up with the young Argentinian Daiara Valenzuela , currently 63rd in the world.
A pair that will start with strong ambitions since both players will occupy the seeded 2 of the tournament.
A reunion after the final in Marnes-la-Coquette
The two players already know each other very well.
A few weeks ago, they faced each other in the final of the FIP Bronze Marnes-la-Coquette . That day, Léa Godallier , associated with Lucia Peralta , had taken the lead over Daiara Valenzuela to clinch the title and the 40 FIP points promised to the winners.
A final that may have given birth to this new association.
In Narbonne, the two players will join forces this time with the aim of playing leading roles in a tournament that promises to be particularly challenging.
Godallier confirms its positive momentum
Despite several changes in partners in recent months, Léa Godallier continues to string together solid performances.
The Frenchwoman notably reached the round of 32 of the Miami P1 then from Buenos Aires P1 , played in a final of FIP Silver and won the FIP Bronze Marnes-la-Coquette .
In Rome, during the Italy Major she was associated with Ariadna Cañellas Unfortunately, both players were eliminated in the first round of the main draw.
The Frenchwoman is nevertheless continuing a consistent season despite the end of her project with Giorgia Marchetti Since this separation, she has been involved in numerous associations: Lucia Peralta in Marnes, Ariadna Cañellas in Rome, and then in... Valence P1 , before meeting up with Daiara Valenzuela in Narbonne.
Daiara Valenzuela on the rise
On the Argentinian side, the dynamic is just as interesting.
At only 21 years, Daiara Valenzuela continues to climb in the world rankings and is gradually establishing herself as one of the players to watch on the circuit.
She has notably reached the round of 32 in two consecutive tournaments. Premier Padel , To the Asunción P2 then the Buenos Aires P1 .
A finalist in Marnes-la-Coquette, she also had a very good run at the Italy Major where she managed to reach the round of 32 after coming through qualifying.
A series of results that have allowed him to reach 63rd place in the world rankings today.
An association to watch
On paper, this pair seems particularly complementary.
On one hand, the experience of Léa Godallier , a regular at major international events. On the other hand, the freshness and constant progress of Daiara Valenzuela , one of the most prominent players at the moment outside the world's top 50.
It remains to be seen whether this association will be limited to FIP Silver Narbonne or if a good result might encourage the two players to continue the adventure together in the coming weeks.
One thing is certain: they will be among the main contenders for the title in Aude.
I discovered padel directly during a tournament, and frankly, I didn't really like it at first. But the second time, it was love at first sight, and since then, I haven't missed a single match. I'm even ready to stay up until 3am to watch a final of Premier Padel !
