Lebrón to Coello: "Don't listen to those who say you're harming padel"

A few minutes after their coronation at the Valladolid Premier Padel P2, Arturo Coello et Agustín Tapia spoke to the media, discussing their match, their feelings... and the criticism.

A liberating victory for Coello

Victorious in two sets (7/5 6/4) against Franco Stupaczuk et Juan Lebrón, the two world number 1s delivered a solid performance. For Arturo Coello, a native of Valladolid, this title has a special meaning. "I thought about a lot of things during the match, including bullshit..." he confides with a smile, acknowledging that he felt a real emotional liberation when it comes to concluding.

Juan Lebrón, fair play despite the defeat

While the tension was palpable on the court, especially between Lebrón and his coach during the match, the Andalusian player nevertheless had some strong words for Coello after the final. "Juan told me not to listen to those who say that Tapia and I are harming padel," Coello reported. A statement that seems to have touched the young Spaniard, often criticized for the dominance his duo imposes on the circuit.

The atmosphere was relaxed at the press conference, prompting some laughter when the questions were directed exclusively to Coello, leaving Tapia behind. The opportunity for the two champions to share a funny anecdote: "My mother keeps my trophies," explained Arturo, while Agus added with a wink: "And for me, it's my father!"

When asked about outdoor playing conditions, Agustín Tapia was clear: "We know we can't change the weather, but we can choose to play indoors." The Argentinian player also explained that he uses many new snowshoes for every outdoor tournament, due to the heat and accelerated wear of the equipment.

Finally, Tapia did not fail to congratulate your partner, whom he considers to be the strong man of the week. "Arturo entered the tournament like a beast. When we win, it's always because he's at his best," he concluded, emphasizing once again the exceptional complementarity of their duo.
