While the Italy Major  As it draws to a close in Rome, attention is already beginning to turn towards the  Valencia Premier Padel P1 whose qualifying rounds began this weekend in Spain.

At men's,  Thomas Leygue  has made a perfect start to his tournament and is now only one win away from the main draw.

Leygue and Huete turn the situation around

Associated with Spanish  Mario Huete , a player he knows well, having already shared the track with him, notably in the colors of  Home Insurance Padel Thomas Leygue had to work hard to get through the first round.

Opposing the Argentinians  Matthew Rivero  et  Joaquín de Astoreca The Frenchman and his partner had a difficult start before completely turning things around.

Down a set, they ultimately staged a remarkable comeback to win.  2/6 6/2 6/3 .

A victory that confirms the positive momentum of Leygue, recent finalist of the  FIP Bronze Castellón  with Aris Patiniotis and author of a final qualifying round at the Italy Major .

One last obstacle before the main draw

To secure his place in the main draw, Thomas Leygue will now have to overcome a formidable pair composed of  Rodrigo Coello  and Swedish  Adam Axelsson .

The meeting is scheduled for  third rotation of 9 a.m. on court 3 .

In the event of a victory, the Frenchman would return to the main draw of Premier Padel, a result that would allow him to regain confidence and valuable FIP points.

Touly faces the number 1 seed

For the women, the qualifications begin this Sunday with two French women competing.

The task looks particularly complicated for  Carla Toully  and the Spanish  Amanda Lopez Morale .

For their opening match, they will directly face the number 1 seed from the qualifiers, composed of  Lara Arruabarrena  et  Ana Catarina Nogueira .

A major challenge right from the first round for the Franco-Spanish pair. The match is scheduled for...  fourth rotation at 9 a.m. on the center court .

Godallier is aiming for the final round

For its part,  Léa Godallier  will be associated with the Spanish  Ariadna Canellas Rodero .

Seeded 5th in qualifying, the two players will start against the Spanish team.  Mar Munera Villa  et  Coral Alvarez Castro , beneficiaries of a wildcard.

The meeting is scheduled for  third rotation of 9 a.m. on center court .

If they win, Godallier and Cañellas could face Touly and Lopez Moral in the next round… provided that the latter pull off an upset against the number 1 seed.

An important day awaits the French players competing in Valence, with the hope of seeing several French representatives move closer to the main draw.
