The Cancun Premier Padel P2 is preparing to experience two highly anticipated finals this Sunday in Cancun, Mexico. In the men's competition, the match will pit the only two pairs to have not lost a set so far: Juan LeBron / Franco Stupaczuk, number 1 seeds and big favorites of the tournament, at Leonel Aguirre / Gonzalo Alfonso, nicknamed "Los Mágicos." This duel will be the logical and anticipated matchup since the beginning of the competition. Despite their unchallenged dominance since the start of the tournament, Lebron and Stupa will have to be wary of any resistance from the Argentinian pair.
In the semi-finals, Lebron and Stupaczuk clearly dominated Moragues/Sintes in just 48 minutes (6/1 6/2). For their part, Aguirre and Alfonso put an end to the surprising performance of the Swedish duo Vasquez/Axelsson (6/1 6/4), who nevertheless had a remarkable run by reaching a semi-final for the first time in Premier Padel for Sweden.
In the women's competition, the final will be between the two best pairs in the world: Gemma Triay / Delfina Brea (seeded n°2) against the Spanish Ariana Sánchez / Paula Josemaría (seeded n°1)Triay and Brea have left no chance to their opponents since the start of the tournament and are coming off a comfortable victory in the semi-final against Osoro/Castelló (6/2 6/2).
It was a surprise in the women's competition with Marta Ortega and Sofia Araújo beating Josemaria/Sanchez in the semi-finals. (6/2 4/6 6/4)
The finals will begin this Sunday at 22:30 am French time for the women's final (15:30 p.m. local time in Mexico). The men's final will follow from 2am French time (19 p.m. local time in Mexico). These two confrontations will thus close the first edition of the Cancún Premier Padel P2.
