One week after their promising run at Pretoria P1 , Alejandra Salazar et Aranza Osoro failed to confirm. The 8th seed of the London P1 was heavily eliminated in her first match by Beatriz Caldera et Carmen Goenaga which established themselves in just class on the uncontested score of 6 / 1 6 / 1 .
An association hampered after an encouraging start
Their new partnership had, however, started perfectly in South Africa.
Semi-finalists in Pretoria, Salazar and Osoro notably secured a landmark victory against Marta Ortega et Sofia Araújo suggesting a duo capable of competing with the best pairs on the circuit.
But in London, the dynamic has completely reversed.
Caldera and Goenaga dominate from start to finish
From the first games, Beatriz Caldera et Carmen Goenaga took control of the match.
More aggressive, more consistent and much more effective in the important moments, they left no chance for the 8th seed.
The statistics perfectly illustrate their dominance. The Spanish women converted 71% of their break points while Salazar and Osoro did not transform no of their opportunities.
Even more revealing, Caldera and Goenaga won 58% of points played on comeback games , proof of their total control over the match.
In the end, the score of 6 / 1 6 / 1 perfectly reflects the nature of a one-sided match.

A painting that opens
Thanks to this convincing victory, Caldera et Goenaga continue their excellent momentum and confirm the progress of their association.
In the next round, they will face the winners of the duel between the qualifiers. Noemi Aguilar / Letizia Manquillo et Noa Cánovas / Eulalia Rodriguez .
In the event of another victory, a quarter-final against Ari Sánchez et Andrea Ustero could wait for them.
Other results
In the other women's matches of the day, Marta Ortega et Sofia Araújo started their tournament perfectly by dominating Nuria Rodriguez et Giulia Dal Pozzo on the score of 6 / 3 6 / 2 .
On their side, Martina Fassio et Raquel Eugenio eliminated Sofia saiz et Lucia Sainz in two sets, 6 / 4 6 / 4 .
I discovered padel directly during a tournament, and frankly, I didn't really like it at first. But the second time, it was love at first sight, and since then, I haven't missed a single match. I'm even ready to stay up until 3am to watch a final of Premier Padel !
