Agustín Tapia and Arturo Coello are the first champions in the history of the London Premier Padel P1.  The world number ones concluded the first part of their season with another title by dominating  Ale Galán / Fede Chingotto  at the end of a great final:  6/3 5/7 7/5 in 1h51 .

The number 2 players managed to push them to a third set, but overall,  Tapia and Coello were the strongest on the track And as is so often the case in crunch time, they made the difference once again.

The number 1s are starting their match perfectly.  Arturo Coello immediately takes control of his diagonal.  and delivers an impressive first set.

Very aggressive, omnipresent at the net and leaving almost no space, the Spaniard is doing a lot of damage to  Fede Chingotto who are having a difficult start to the match. Galán is understandably much less involved and Tapia/Coello are finding their target perfectly.

With a Coello probably  MVP of this final The number 1s take control and logically win the first round  6/3 .

Galán / Chingotto almost come back against the run of the match

The second set is much more balanced. Both teams hold their serve and, at  5/4 Tapia and Coello are starting to put a lot of pressure on.

You can feel the end of the match is near.

But Galán / Chingotto are holding on and this resistance will completely revive them.  Chingotto is gradually gaining momentum , finds more differences with his vibora and finally begins to respond to Coello in his diagonal.

By his side,  Galán also takes up more space , particularly on the smash.

The final set is extremely close. Neither duo manages to gain a real advantage and service games fly by.

But at  6/5 The scenario that we have already seen many times this season is repeating itself.

 Tapia and Coello accelerate at the best moment.  A few unusual mistakes by Chingotto open the door for them and the number 1s do not let the opportunity slip away.

They conclude  7/5  and win this final  6/3 5/7 7/5 .

Five consecutive victories against Galán / Chingotto

The series is starting to take its toll. After being shaken up by Galán and Chingotto at the beginning of the season,  Tapia and Coello have now racked up five consecutive victories against their main rivals. .

The record of matches this season thus changes to  6 wins to 4 in favor of the world number 1 .

For Galán/Chingotto, it's another disappointment against this pair. They had their opportunities again and managed to push their rivals to the limit, but the result remains the same.

Tapia and Coello go on holiday like bosses

Apart from their surprise elimination at  Pretoria P1 Tapia and Coello are having an impressive end to the first half of the season.  Since the Italy Major, Pretoria is the only tournament they have not won. 

In London, their run was once again particularly strong. They hadn't lost a single set before this final and had largely dominated their last two matches.  6-1, 6-2 in the quarter-finals then  6/3 6/2 in the semi-final .

As with last season, the number ones are therefore arriving at the summer break full of confidence. They become the  first winners of the London P1  and add a new trophy to their collection.

Now it's time for a holiday before the start of the new term in early September.  Madrid P1 And once again, it's good.  Tapia and Coello will start with the psychological advantage over Galán and Chingotto .

I discovered padel directly during a tournament, and frankly, I didn't really like it at first. But the second time, it was love at first sight, and since then, I haven't missed a single match. I'm even ready to stay up until 3am to watch a final of Premier Padel !
