Partnered with Natan Étienne , the young player of 19 years has had a solid run, with two victories before bowing to the final round An important experience for someone who is continuing his progress on the French circuit, after a transition to padel and integration into one of the most demanding training environments in France.
Between intensive training in the All In Lyon With rapid progress in the rankings and ambitions for the seasons to come, Lucas Potel is one of those players who are building their trajectory step by step.
Qualifying hard-fought in Rivesaltes
À Rivesaltes , Lucas Potel et Natan Étienne They had to fight their way through a tough qualifying draw, where there were many Spanish pairs. The two French players managed to get through two rounds before losing in the final qualifying match.
The experience remains positive for Potel, who emphasizes the intensity of the matches and the quality of the level encountered.
The two players notably faced several young and highly competitive pairs, in fast-paced matches that allowed them to test themselves against a demanding international level.
Despite being eliminated in the last round, the duo comes away with positive feelings and confirmation that they can compete in this type of context.

A transition from tennis to padel that was almost natural
Like many French players, Lucas Potel comes from tennis. He discovered the sport at a very young age and devoted a large part of his adolescence to it before making a decisive change.
For nearly ten years, he played tennis, but as he entered his final years of studies, his motivation waned. It was during this period of reflection that he discovered padel, in his region of Grand Est, in Saint-Dizier.
The club only had two outdoor pitches at the time, but that was enough to trigger a real revelation.
"I wasn't really enjoying tennis anymore. We started playing padel after training and I took to it immediately."
He quickly began competing in some local tournaments, with encouraging results. The desire to fully commit to this new discipline soon followed.
The All In, an ideal setting for progress
To take things to the next level, Lucas Potel then joined the All In Country Club in Lyon , a renowned structure in French padel. For the past year and a half, he has been following an intensive training program there alongside experienced players from the circuit.
He trains in particular with Jérémy Robert, Thomas Basso, and Nathan Courrin , under the supervision of renowned coaches: Johan Bergeron and Jessica Ginier There are worse coaches out there…
Daily life is organized around a sustained rhythm combining technique, group training and physical preparation.
Typical days unfold with individual lessons, group sessions, and physical work. A packed schedule that structures his progress.

A rapid rise in the French rankings
The year 2025 marks a turning point in Lucas Potel's career. By joining All In, he has the opportunity to develop in a competitive environment and participate in major events.
One of the highlights remains his participation in the National 1 team competition , a competition where he discovers a very different atmosphere and level of play.
This experience partly contributes to his rise in the rankings. In just a year and a half, his progress has been spectacular.
"When I arrived at the All In, I was around 500th place. Today I'm 76th."
Rapid progress that confirms the wisdom of choosing to join this structure.
The French circuit as a priority
Although the experience of the FIP Bronze in Rivesaltes allowed him to taste the international circuit, Lucas Potel remains focused on French tournaments for the time being.
His schedule is now built around the P1000 , with the aim of gradually establishing himself in the most competitive draws of the national circuit.
"For now, I'm really focusing on tournaments in France."
International football remains in the back of his mind, but rather in a gradual approach.
The idea is first to consolidate his place on the French circuit before gradually increasing his presence on FIP tournaments.
Clear objectives for 2026
In the short term, Lucas Potel has set himself simple but ambitious goals. The first naturally concerns the French ranking.
He aims for entry into the top 50 with the hope of eventually getting closer to top 30.
At the same time, he wants to start participating in more international tournaments towards the end of the season in order to gain experience on the FIP circuit.
But beyond sporting results, the player also insists on the importance of maintaining a personal balance and daily discipline.
"The most important thing is to remain disciplined every day and to keep working."
Between rapid progress, a unique training environment, and his first international experiences, Lucas Potel is patiently and clearly pursuing his development. His trajectory is still young, but he's already well established in the French padel scene.
