This is an invitation that owes nothing to chance. Lucas Terminet et Quentin Brunet obtained a wildcard to participate in the qualifications of the P1000 Padel 95 of PontoiseThis is a first at this level for the two young players who came through the club's youth system. A reward that boosts their confidence, but above all, a significant milestone in their progress.
“A real opportunity to play in this kind of tournament”
For 15-year-old Quentin, the announcement provoked a mixture of surprise and pride.
“I was very surprised because at Padel 95 The level is high, there are some very good players. Being offered a wildcard is a real opportunity to participate in this kind of tournament.”
Lucas felt the same way; he knew this possibility existed, but didn't consider it a given.
“I was super happy, our coach had told us it might be possible. So it was only a half surprise.”
For the Brunet family, the decision was not easy, as Quentin would have to miss a day of school:
“A real surprise and a difficult decision to make because he was going to miss a day of classes this Friday… but it’s an honor and recognition of his commitment.”
Objective: experience, fun and learning
No unnecessary pressure for the two youngsters, perfectly aware of the level of a P1000. The watchword is clear: learn.
“The goal of this tournament is to gain experience, as it will be my first P1000 and also the first for my partner Lucas. We will give everything to try and win a set, or even more,” explains Quentin.
Lucas shares the same philosophy:
“Our goal is to have fun and gain initial experience at this level. We have already participated in major youth tournaments, but only in P500 tournaments for men.”
Facing the elite of the French circuit, the ambition is measured but sincere: to play freely, without complexes, and to seize each exchange as a learning opportunity.
Padel 95, a structured and supportive framework
Both players operate in an environment they unanimously describe as ideal.
“The training sessions at Padel "95 are going very well. The atmosphere at the club is incredible, everyone gets along well and it's really enjoyable to go to the club," says Quentin, grateful to his coach. Adrien Viard.
Lucas also emphasizes the collective aspect:
"Padel 95 is a real club with a great atmosphere. The teams train together, the players stay to watch the matches, eat there… I feel great here, especially since my mom is a coach and my dad plays too.”
Between joint sessions, individual training and constant support from Adrien Viard, the two youngsters benefit from a structured and stimulating environment, conducive to their progress.
Dreams that are already well-defined
While enjoyment remains the priority, the ambitions are clear.
“In the long term, I would like to play at the highest possible level on the international circuit while continuing to enjoy myself,” says Quentin.
Lucas, only 13 years old, already spontaneously embraces his dreams:
“I want to be the best I can be, to play in padel tournaments all over the world.”
A passion that began very early, within the family, as he explained during the Paris Major:
“When I watched my parents play, I loved it. I wanted to try it and I was immediately hooked. Today, I train three times a week with Adrien Viard and Quentin Brunet.”
A foundational step, more than just a tournament
Ce P1000 Padel 95 will be first and foremost a formative experienceAn immersion in the world of the elite, a direct confrontation with the demands of top-level competition, and a pivotal step in their young careers.
Wildcard or not, Lucas Terminet et Quentin Brunet They embody this generation that is moving forward with lucidity, passion, and ambition. And in Pontoise this weekend, these may be their first steps in a much bigger story.
I discovered padel directly during a tournament, and frankly, I didn't really like it at first. But the second time, it was love at first sight, and since then, I haven't missed a single match. I'm even ready to stay up until 3am to watch a final of Premier Padel !
