Gemma Triay and Delfi Brea  continue to impose their rhythm on Madrid Premier Padel P1. The world's number ones delivered a very solid performance to dominate  Ari Sánchez / Andrea Ustero (TS3)  in the semi-finals,  6/2 6/4 in 1h16 A match largely controlled despite a slight scare at the end of the second set.

Triay/Brea immediately take control

From the first set, the number 1 pair imposed their game.  They were hardly worried. Triay and Brea quickly take control of the exchanges and prevent their opponents from finding their rhythm.

In the fast conditions of  Movistar Arena Gemma Triay looks particularly comfortable. Very offensive, she takes up a lot of space and makes the difference as soon as a ball presents itself. For her part, Brea brings her usual consistency.

Above all, the number 1s manage to  well neutralize Andrea Ustero , which is struggling to exert the pressure she would like. The result: a one-sided first set.  6/2 .

From 5/1 to 5/4, but without panicking

The scenario seemed even clearer in the second heat. Triay/Brea cruised to victory and quickly pulled away to lead.  5/1 Qualification then seems almost guaranteed.

But Sánchez and Ustero didn't give up. The number 1s served repeatedly to close out the game, without success, and gradually saw their opponents close the gap. Game after game, the gap narrowed until...  5/4 .

A comeback that could have completely turned the match around. It was precisely at this moment that Triay and Brea demonstrated their mental fortitude. While Sánchez/Ustero had closed the gap and the pressure had shifted, the number ones didn't crumble. They immediately went back on the attack, made the difference on the opponent's serve, and closed it out.  6 / 2 6 / 4 .

Fifth consecutive final for the number 1s

With this victory,  Triay/Brea reach their fifth consecutive final An impressive consistency, even if they are still chasing another title since they haven't won a tournament since...  Malaga P1 .

And the final step promises to be particularly challenging. They will either  Paula Josemaría / Bea González , the world number 2, that is  Claudia Fernández / Martina Calvo , a pair that poses serious problems for them since they beat them in their  two finals .

In any case, a major test awaits the world number ones. But given their performance in Madrid,  Triay and Brea arrive in the final with a great deal of confidence. .

For  Ari Sánchez and Andrea Ustero The dynamics are more complicated. They haven't reached a final since the  Valladolid P2  and stumble once again before the final match of the tournament.

Benjamin Dupouy

I discovered padel directly during a tournament, and frankly, I didn't really like it at first. But the second time, it was love at first sight, and since then, I haven't missed a single match. I'm even ready to stay up until 3am to watch a final of Premier Padel !
