Marta Marrero made its big return this Wednesday morning at Bordeaux P2 with the Viking, Aranzazu Osoro. A winning return for the new mother, as she and Zazu advanced to the second round of the tournament.

The moment for us to come back with Marta on her return and her newfound sensations.

A return full of emotions

I'm really happy to be here, on this magnificent track in Bordeaux. I felt good, comfortable, but on the other hand, I felt very nervous. It was quite predictable that I would feel this nervousness, after a year and a half without playing. But my partner played really well and accompanied me really well on the track.

I was very moved by this victory, it also allowed me to relieve some of the pressure I had. We were very impatient to start this tournament and now that the nervousness has subsided, We will try to enjoy a little more on the track.

A long-term project with Zazu Osoro

Normally, with Aranzazu Osoro, it's made to last. When you start with a new partner, you have certain expectations. With Aranza, I think we can form a very competitive pair and we can have good results. I hope we can be together for a long time because really, I really enjoyed myself on the track with her.

Retirement ? Not immediately…

I can't say how much longer I'll play. For now, I'm back and I'm not thinking about retirement at all. That would be a bit pessimistic...

For now, the important thing is to enjoy the moment. There is a very good level at the moment, the young players who are arriving are very strong. However, I have the desire, I have the energy…and my daughter also allows me to continue, with all that that entails when traveling anyway.

An evolution of the game?

There are some very young players who are arriving on the circuit and who are very strong, also physically. Today, everyone trains a lot and it shows in the evolution of the padel.

I think it’s really very positive for the show!

Premier Padel vs World Padel Tour ?

Le World Padel Tour had a lot of experience, and the Premier Padel has a few years behind him. A beginning is never obvious. But I can't talk too much about it because I wasn't there for a year and a half, so I wouldn't be able to compare because I haven't had much experience on this circuit yet.

It was his brother who one day told him to accompany him on a track. padel, since then, Gwenaëlle has never left the court. Except when it comes to going to watch the broadcast of Padel Magazine, World Padel Tour… or Premier Padel…or the French Championships. In short, she is a fan of this sport.
