At 28 years, Martín Di Nenno is one of the leading figures in world padel. Born in Ezeiza, in the province of Buenos Aires, practically "racket in hand," the Argentinian seemed destined for the top level. Arriving in Madrid as a young man with a clear dream, he climbed the ranks to become No. 3 worldwide, notably alongside his long-time partner, Franco Stupaczuk.
But 2025 was a tumultuous year. An unstable season during which Di Nenno went through a series of setbacks. four different partners, without ever finding the continuity that was its strength. In an interview with Juanfe Sanz (The Snack), the Argentinian player spoke candidly.
A season of ups and downs
Di Nenno isn't making excuses. He accepts that this year has been far from his usual standards.
“This year, I haven’t had the consistency that characterized me in previous seasons. It’s been very inconsistent. I won a tournament, then lost in the first round the following week. It’s not something I’m used to, and it’s what I want to correct for 2026.”
His only title in 2025, at Madrid P1 With Leo Augsburger, it wasn't enough to mask a glaring lack of consistency. A frustrating situation for a player used to playing for the long term with the same project.
“I haven’t built anything with anyone.”
At the heart of this analysis, one observation keeps recurring: the absence of time and stability.
"With a partner, you need time. To train, to experience good times, and bad times too. In 2025, I wasn't able to build anything with anyone."
For Di Nenno, the best pairs on the circuit are not distinguished solely by their talent.
"The top two pairs in the world are obviously very strong, but above all they are very good Teams »
A clear message, almost a mea culpa, about his lack of patience.
"I wasn't able to persevere and keep working when things weren't going well. There was always a 'but'. And that's what I want to change."
A look back at his associations in 2025
Di Nenno looks back with lucidity on each of his collaborations.
With Javi Garrido
"We had a lot of illusions, but not that connection on the field. Off the field, everything was fine, but on the track, it wasn't flowing."
With Juan Tello
"With Juan, I felt more recognizable. I regained my confidence, I played in semi-finals again. That's when my year really restarted."
With Leo Augsburger
“We were very different in our playing style. We won in Madrid, but we weren’t able to maintain that level. Leo is 21 years old, he has enormous potential, but he still needs consistency.”
With Franco Stupaczuk (end of season)
"With Franco, I have this peace, this tranquility. Very good memories. That's why I wanted to end the year with him."
Heading towards 2026 with Momo González
If the end of the adventure with Stupaczuk is confirmed, Franco will play in 2026 with Mike Yanguas, and Di Nenno will begin the new season alongside Momo GonzálezAs No. 12 in the world FIP.
A new project that he is approaching with a different mindset, more composed, more mature.
"Everything has been a learning experience. I love taking stock at the end of the year. In 2026, I want to correct those details."
Nor is there any bitterness regarding the choices of his former partners:
"As long as things are said clearly and respectfully, there's no problem."
A more lucid Di Nenno, ready to bounce back
2025 was a year of doubt, but also of profound self-questioning for Martín Di Nenno. On the cusp of 2026, the “Turquito” seems driven by a clear desire to rebuildwith a simple objective: regaining stability, consistency… and his best level.
An honest, rare speech, and perhaps the starting point of a new cycle.
I discovered padel directly during a tournament, and frankly, I didn't really like it at first. But the second time, it was love at first sight, and since then, I haven't missed a single match. I'm even ready to stay up until 3am to watch a final of Premier Padel !
