The day after an incredible first edition in Dakhla for the Intercontinental Cup of padel, it seemed important to us to come back to the innovative aspects that were put in place during this competition.

First, Morocco has not put traditions aside. On the contrary, Dakhla and its region wanted to promote the Moroccan culture and the assets of the region. The players were indeed supported for excursions when they did not play.

The organizers have also put traditional songs at the heart of this competition. Throughout the tournament, we were able to enjoy this folk group that helped put an exceptional atmosphere.

This first edition of padel in Morocco has gone beyond the padel : The organizers have shown another way of doing things.

Yes, you didn't have the best players in the world. And we saw that only the game counted. And there have been! With 16 nations present, 4 continents represented, the Intercontinental Cup of Padel achieves a remarkable first.

What to say about the public? An audience not like the others. Because it is an audience that is discovering for the first time a field of padel on this famous Hassan II square. For a majority of those present, they have no background in racket sports. It is therefore a total discovery.

Through her representatives, Dakhla has confirmed that she will build a large padel : The Padel Dakhla Club. It should consist of 5 fields of padel at least.

There is a delay in the facilities, but in view of the tremendous success of the event, the region's representatives have been a staunch supporter of the sport, the new club and the next edition.

Because it is also a capital information: Dakhla wishes to welcome this competition again. The second edition that is supposed to be played elsewhere, sees the city stomp to obtain this second edition in Morocco and therefore especially Dakhla. We know that Casablanca would be interested in this second edition. Other cities in Africa and Europe have already come forward to get this second edition.

Claude Baigts, President of the European Association of Clubs Padel, explained to us that he was “very proud of this competition. An extraordinary tournament that has promoted our sport: The Padel. And that's the ultimate goal ”.

Omar EL ALAOUI, director of Sahara Event and Founding President of Nord Sud Action, is one of the main architects of this great festival of padel : “A first tournament of padel international which will have been a success. We hope this will be the first in a long list. Morocco could well eventually become a land of padel".

With its pool of racket sports players, Morocco has all the assets to become a great country of padel World.
