Neila and Feryel Bekhedda, the twin sisters of the French Junior team, look back on their career, their goals of joining the French top 100, and their preparation for these European Championships.

Those nicknamed the “French Alayeto” share with us the strength of their bond as sisters on the field and their track record.

Their story with padel

Neila: Like most players on the circuit, we started with tennis. For us, tennis was more of a hobby, and we had little interest in individual competitions. It was thanks to our dad that we discovered padel. We quickly became addicted to this sport and took our first lessons in 2022 with a reference in French padel: Mélissa Martin.

Feryel: Sharing the court with my sister is a real asset; we have many common passions, and padel conveys values of solidarity, exchange and combativeness that immediately appealed to us.

Their goals

Feryel: We aim to enter the French top 100, and for that, we need regularity in our training and to participate in more competitions. With our coach Fred Pommier and the help of the IDF league, we are currently structuring our next season, with the next TNJ already in mind and the objective of winning the title of U16 French champions in 2025.

Neila: We also want to continue to defend the colours of France during the next international events.

The strength of the bond between sisters

Neila: With my sister, we don't need to talk to each other to express our feelings; we have this ability to feel what the other is feeling, which is a real asset, especially in tense moments on the dance floor.

Preparation for the European Championships

Feryel: Our preparation was planned with our coach, with the aim of seeking variation and relaxation in our game. The idea was also to accumulate volume of play and vary the partners, by playing against different styles.

To best prepare for the European championships, we took part in the Master TNJ in Bandol, the P1000 in Sète, a category 2 tournament in Spain, as well as the French youth championship in Aix.
