Present but not selected for Brussels P2

Tournament Brussels Premier Padel P2 is currently taking place in the spectacular setting of the Harbor Station, in the heart of the Belgian capital. A major international event in which Noémi Sermant hoped to participate.

“We were on the waiting list for qualifications"Unfortunately, only one pair dropped out. We were there, waiting... but we couldn't play," she says with a hint of disappointment.

However, it will be present in the stands to observe the best world pairs:

“I'm going to watch some games on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.”

A clear objective: to return to the national team

Having gone through tennis, Noémi discovered padel in 2021. A choice that paid off, since she has already experienced a first selection with Belgium, especially during European ChampionshipsToday, she is aiming for a return among the best.

“I hope to make the national team this year. There are a few girls ahead of me in the rankings, but I work hard every day.”

A new partner since January

Since the beginning of 2025, Noémi has been working alongside Michelle Van Mol (387th in the world)Together, they have notably achieved the Gatorade FIP Bronze Quarterfinals in Finland.
A change of configuration too, since Noémi is now repositioned to the right, on the advice of his coach Nick Braet :

“I played on the left for a long time, so the change wasn't easy at first. But I'm adapting.”

The young player trains in the city of Ghent, where she also studies law.

“I like this city because I have my friends, my padel club and my studies here.”

His coach, Nick Braet, is one of the pioneers of Belgian padel, at the origin of Padel 4 U2, the country's first complex, opened in 2012.

A next challenge in Spain

Next goal for Noémi Sermant: the FIP Bronze of San Juan de Alicante, where she will compete in the qualifications.

At the same time, she continues to work on her weak points:

“I practice a lot. I like the offensive aspect, with smashes and volleys, but I still need to improve my defense. Managing the glass is essential to staying in the rally.”
