What path for  Nino Portales / David Soleirol  au  P1000 The Hangar Seeded 8th at the start of the tournament, the two players went on to claim the title by defeating the favorites.  Victor Choppe / Thomas Bréchemier (TS1)  at the end of a tense final:  6/3 3/6 7/6 in 1h49 .

A victory at the end of a suspenseful match for the surprise pair of the weekend, carried by the Hangar crowd.

A final decided by a tie-break

Portales/Soleirol immediately showed that they hadn't reached the final by chance. They took the first set.  6/3 imposing their pace against the favorites.

But Choppe/Bréchemier respond. The number 1 seed regains more control and levels the score by taking the second set.  6/3 .

Everything hinges on a particularly tense third set. Neither duo manages to gain a decisive advantage, and the final is heading towards a  decisive tie-break .

And in this latest game, it's  Portales / Soleirol  who find the resources to conclude. Victory  7/6  in the third and explosion of joy at the Hangar.

From the TS8 to the title

The journey is all the more remarkable because  Portales / Soleirol were seeded 8th .

They had taken advantage of the opening of the draw after the premature elimination of  Robin Petitdidier / Maëlan Cipri (TS2) but above all, they knew how to seize every opportunity.

In the quarter-finals, they had dominated  Seghiri / Sanchez Alonso 6/1 6/4 before beating  Stroppiana / Fauvelle 6/3 6/4  in the semi-final. Then the biggest obstacle remained: Choppe / Bréchemier.

And both players finished their week in the best possible way by taking down the  seeded 1 .

The Hangar's favorites go all the way

Victory inevitably has a special flavor for  David Soleirol and Nino Portales  representatives of the Hangar. Carried by the public throughout the weekend, the two men were the real surprises of the tournament.

Starting in TS8, they finished as champions after beating the favorites in a final lasting almost two hours.

And to top it all,  Portales / Soleirol achieve their first P1000  together. It's hard to imagine a better scenario: at home, in front of their fans, and knocking out the number 1 seed in the third set tie-break.

Benjamin Dupouy

I discovered padel directly during a tournament, and frankly, I didn't really like it at first. But the second time, it was love at first sight, and since then, I haven't missed a single match. I'm even ready to stay up until 3am to watch a final of Premier Padel !
