Huge performance from  Grégoire Vignat / Mohamed Malek Dammak  au  P1000 Twins Padel Lacanau The fourth seed went on to claim the title after a completely crazy final against the favorites.  Robin Roux / Julien Motz (TS1) , won  7/5 6/7 7/6 .

A victory at the end of a nail-biter for a pair who took down the top two seeds of the tournament.

Vignat / Dammak are gaining momentum

Their journey, however, had begun without much fanfare.

In the quarter-finals,  Vignat / Dammak  had dominated their match  6 / 2 7 / 5  to reach the final four.

In the semi-final, they pulled off their first big upset of the weekend by eliminating  Elio Sarrat / Thomas Cazes Carrere (TS2) A victory  0/6 6/2 6/2 .

At that point, the pair were already beginning to establish themselves as the real surprise of the tournament.

A huge final against the favorites

In the final, the challenge was even greater with  Robin Roux / Julien Motz , seeded 1 and favorites in the draw.

But Vignat / Dammak never played with the status of outsiders.

They take the first set  7/5 , before seeing Roux/Motz react in the second set. The TS1 snatched the set in a tie-break and forced the final into a decisive third set.

The tension then rises a notch.

Neither pair really manages to gain the upper hand, and the title ultimately comes down to a  third set tie-break .

And in this final decisive game, it's  Vignat / Dammak  who find the resources to finish and defeat the favorites.

TS2 then TS1

To claim the title, the 4th seed will therefore have successively eliminated the  seeds 2 and 1 .

First Sarrat / Cazes Carrere in the semi-final, then Roux / Motz at the end of a breathtaking final.

A commanding performance for a pair who were not favorites at the start of the tournament but who managed to raise their level match after match.

Grégoire Vignat / Mohamed Malek Dammak thus win the P1000 Twins Padel Lacanau , at the end of a weekend where they were clearly the men of the big deals.

Benjamin Dupouy

I discovered padel directly during a tournament, and frankly, I didn't really like it at first. But the second time, it was love at first sight, and since then, I haven't missed a single match. I'm even ready to stay up until 3am to watch a final of Premier Padel !
