The padel scene in the Gironde region could soon welcome a major new player. In Marcheprime, in the heart of the Arcachon Basin, the project Padel Xperience gradually takes shape with a clear ambition: to create a modern sports complex while developing a true living space open to its territory.
While initial work has already begun on the site, the project's backers are unveiling a vision that goes far beyond a simple padel center. It encompasses premium infrastructure, social responsibility, health and fitness initiatives, and local community development. Padel Xperience aims to establish itself as a key piece of equipment for the Bassin region.
A rapidly growing region that demands new infrastructure
The choice of Marcheprime is not insignificant.
Located at the crossroads of the routes linking Bordeaux and the Arcachon Basin, the town benefits from a catchment area of nearly 300 000 people and more than 170 000 Jobs However, despite the explosion in the popularity of padel in France, the supply remains limited in this geographical area.
Today, only a few clubs share the local demand, while many practitioners are forced to travel several dozen kilometers to find available time slots.
For the initiators of Padel Xperience, this situation perfectly illustrates the still immense development potential of French padel.
The Spanish example is regularly cited: more than four million practitioners on the other side of the Pyrenees, compared to a French market still in the acceleration phase but showing spectacular growth.
Local entrepreneurs in charge
The project brings together several complementary profiles from the worlds of business, real estate, events and sports.
These include, in particular, Thierry Mallat , head of the Legal Suite group, Olivier Renault et Vincent Dumont , former directors of the event agency Chaïkana, as well as Séverine Deguilhem-Dalbos , a recognized real estate professional in the Gironde region.
The sporting aspect will be managed by Hiram Azilinon known in the padel world for the development of the club Padel World Maurepas and its expertise in structuring academies, events and sports projects.
This complementarity is one of the project's claimed strengths.
Eight indoor lanes and a central lane to host major events
On a sporting level, Padel Xperience will display high standards.
The complex includes plans for the construction of eight indoor lanes , including an central court capable of hosting official competitions and spectators An outdoor pickleball court is also planned, with the possibility of adding two additional outdoor padel courts in the future.
The objective is to offer a quality of infrastructure comparable to current market standards while allowing the organization of regional and national sporting events.
More than a club: a true living space
It is probably on this point that Padel Xperience intends to stand out.
The project's proponents do not want to build just a sports center, but a place capable of bringing together players, families, businesses and local residents.
The future complex will therefore incorporate a clubhouse A restaurant area, a friendly bar, and dedicated spaces for private or professional events. The promised atmosphere is warm, modern, and inspired by Spanish clubs where conviviality is an integral part of the padel experience.
The project visuals show a bright building, designed in compliance with environmental standards, with particular attention paid to reception, changing rooms and relaxation areas.
The bet of the “Padel for all"
Beyond sport, Padel Xperience also wishes to develop a project with a strong social dimension.
The complex will be structured around a program called « Padel for everyone led by a dedicated manager and structured around four main areas: Padel at school, Padel Health, Padel Disability and Padel Engagement .
The idea is to build links with schools, medical facilities, local associations and institutional players in order to make the practice accessible to as many people as possible.
The initiatives under consideration include:
- sport-health programs in conjunction with local hospital stakeholders;
- actions dedicated to people with disabilities;
- partnerships with schools and colleges;
- charity tournaments to benefit local associations;
- charity events around major causes such as Pink October or the Telethon.
A job-creating project
Beyond its sporting impact, the project should also generate local economic activity.
The carriers of Padel Xperience believes that the opening of the complex will allow for the immediate creation of five to six jobs to which will be added the numerous service providers called upon for events, catering, entertainment or maintenance.
A new step for padel in the Bassin d'Arcachon
While the first elements of the construction site are already visible and the project is progressing concretely, Padel Xperience intends to participate in the transformation of the sporting landscape of the Arcachon Basin.
The stated ambition is clear: to offer modern equipment, to develop the practice of padel among new audiences and to create a place capable of being lived seven days a week around sport, conviviality and sharing.
If the schedule is respected, Marcheprime could soon host one of the most structuring projects for padel in the Gironde region in the coming years.
