From October 8 to 12, 2025, Marrakech will host a unprecedented international event : a tournament pitting players against each other French and Moroccan, in an exceptional setting. Sponsored by the new brand SCUD, this friendly and committed competition will bring together 80 teams for a confrontation between enthusiasts.
A few months before the tournament, Padel Magazine talked with Laurent Paillusseau, organizer of the event and well-known figure in French sport.
Why did you choose Morocco to host this international tournament?
Laurent Paillusseau : I am above all a tennis enthusiast and I organize international tournaments for over 20 years. I have already organized several major events in Marrakech. It is a city close to France, With a ideal climate for sport, and above all, a warm population and welcoming. Today, the padel attracts a very varied audience, men and women, young and old. It seemed natural to me to offer a competition in a place as inspiring as Marrakech.
What is the objective of this France-Morocco meeting?
LP : It's about a international friendly meeting between two neighboring countries. There will be no point or ranking issue. The idea is to defend the colors of one's country in a spirit of healthy competition and especially friendliness.

How will the tournament unfold?
LP : The event will start from Tuesday evening, October 7 by official draw, in the presence ofAlexandre Barceló, the referee. This draw will take place in the official hotel, located just a few minutes from the club, where we negotiated low rates for the players and their companions. The organization was built around a wonderful meeting with Amine Jamari, club director Padel Square, with whom I share this passion for padel. The club is located a few minutes from downtown Marrakech. It has 6 tracks and clubhouse offering the best specialties Moroccan culinary.
What is the format of the tournament?
LP : The table is limited to 40 teams per country. To ensure a high level of play, we have blocked registrations for rankings equivalent to a French P1500 the women are obviously welcome, provided they have a level corresponding to a Top 500This ensures we have matches. committed and balanced. Each team will play at least one match per day, according to a classic format: 2 sets of 6 games with super tie-break in the 3rdThe objective is also to give players free time : matches end every day before 18:30 PM., so that everyone can enjoy Marrakech. Of festive evenings will also be offered throughout the stay.
How can players register?
LP : It's very simple. We provide the referee contact, a mail address and phone number to manage registrations. We have already started receiving requests. And if a player does not yet have a partner, we make sure to find them find a compatible person, depending on his level and style of play.
