The qualification tables of the Alpine Paris Major are now known. Starting Sunday at Roland-Garros, three pairs with French players to watch : Thomas Leygue / Jesús Moya and the wild card Manuel Vives / Olivier Guy de Chamisso in men, as well as Marie-Amélie Dardaine / Clara Mansart among the ladies.
Leygue / Moya with Lamperti to start
No wild card this year for Thomas Leygue , but the Frenchman entered the qualifiers directly thanks to his ranking. Associated with Jesus Moya he will form the seeded 5 of these qualifications.
And the first round will already offer a great match-up. Leygue/Moya will face off Miguel Lamperti / Ferran Insa A match that will inevitably be special against the Argentinian, who is playing his last season on the professional circuit and will therefore experience his latest Paris Major .
On paper, Leygue/Moya will be the favorites, but Lamperti's experience should be taken seriously. The Frenchman also knows Insa well, having previously shared the track with him.
If they win, a particularly challenging final round could await them: Marcos González / Martin Abud (TS3) ou Manuel Aragón / Albert Roglan Pons .
Vives / Guy de Chamisso facing TS7
The other French men's hope will be Manuel Vives / Olivier Guy de Chamisso , beneficiaries of a wild card.
And they too were not spared by the draw. They will start against Facundo Luis López / Franco Dal Bianco (TS7) , two Argentinians capable of causing serious problems.
A big test for the French pair, but also a great opportunity to cause an upset on home soil. If they pull off the feat, they will face the winner of the duel between in the final round. Diego Arredondo / Agustín Torre et Ignacio Sager / Salva Oria (TS4) .
On this part of the table, the route to the main table is therefore particularly challenging.
Final rounds that could hurt
The eight top seeds are evenly distributed across the four sections of the draw. If the rankings hold true, the four matches for a place in the main draw would be:
Álvaro Cepero / Pepe Aliaga (TS1) vs Pedro Meléndez / Agustín Gutiérrez (TS8)
Facundo Luis López / Franco Dal Bianco (TS7) vs Ignacio Sager / Salva Oria (TS4)
Marcos González / Martin Abud (TS3) vs Thomas Leygue / Jesús Moya (TS5)
José Solano / Ramiro Pereyra (TS6) vs Javier Valdés / Miguel Benítez (TS2)
This promises to be a particularly hard-fought qualifying round.
Dardaine/Mansart face the number 2 seed
In the women's competition, France will be counting on Marie-Amélie Dardaine / Clara Mansart The two Frenchwomen received a wild card and will immediately face one of the toughest opponents in the draw: Natividad López Díaz / Aida Martínez Sanjuan, seed 2 .
They will clearly not be the favorites, but at home and spurred on by the French public, they will try to create an upset to extend their adventure.
In the event of an upset, they would face off in the final round Alba Pérez Momha / Alba Gallardo Salvado (TS7) ou Lucía Pérez Parra / Clarinha Santos .
A very open female portrait as well
If all the seeded players lived up to their rankings, the theoretical final four rounds would be:
Carla Fernández González / Nerea Guerra Santana (TS1) vs Anna Ortiz Gascó / Victoria Kurz (TS5)
Ana Varo Ramos / Marcella Koek (TS8) vs Bárbara Las Heras / Carla Mesa (TS3)
Brittany Dubins / Camila Ramme Coellar (TS4) vs Carlotta Casali Vannicelli / Clarissa Margherita Aima (TS6)
Alba Pérez Momha / Alba Gallardo Salvado (TS7) vs Natividad López Díaz / Aida Martínez Sanjuan (TS2) .
For the French, the challenge will therefore be significant from the outset. Leygue/Moya will have the status to aim for qualification , While Vives/Guy de Chamisso and Dardaine/Mansart will try to take advantage of their wild card to shake up the hierarchy at Roland-Garros .
I discovered padel directly during a tournament, and frankly, I didn't really like it at first. But the second time, it was love at first sight, and since then, I haven't missed a single match. I'm even ready to stay up until 3am to watch a final of Premier Padel !
