Disappointment for  Léa Godallier  at Roland-Garros. Associated with Argentina  Daiara Valenzuela The Frenchwoman was defeated in the first round of the  Paris Major  face  Marta Borrero / Teresa Navarro , at the end of a match that was nevertheless very evenly matched:  6 / 4 7 / 6 .

On paper, it's hard to get more indecisive.  Godallier / Valenzuela formed the 26th pair in the tournament , just behind Borrero / Navarro, 25th pair.

Too many inaccuracies in the first set

Borrero and Navarro started the match better and quickly took control to lead  4/2 Godallier and Valenzuela are not giving up and are taking advantage of a  star point  to break back and truly kickstart their match.

But at  5/4 The Spanish women strike at the perfect moment. A few inaccuracies from the Franco-Argentine side allow them to secure the decisive break and clinch the first set.  6/4 .

The statistics summarize this first set quite well:  13 winning points on each side More  19 unforced errors for Godallier / Valenzuela against only 13  for their opponents. A difference that proves costly in such a close match.

A match point miraculously saved

The second set starts better for the French and Argentinian players. They take the lead and are ahead.  3/2 with a break lead before immediately surrendering their advantage.

The game remains extremely close.  5/4 Borrero/Navarro get their first match point. On a smash by Valenzuela,  Teresa Navarro finds herself with a counter-attack that seems perfectly set up to finish … but completely misses his mark.

Godallier falls to his knees. A match point saved almost miraculously in front of his home crowd and the hope of seeing the match turn around.

The set eventually continued until the  tie-breaker But this time Borrero/Navarro don't let their chance slip away. They quickly take control and finish  7 points to 3 .

Six break points, only one converted.

There was still room for improvement in this second set. Godallier/Valenzuela secure  six break points but only converted one. A lack of efficiency that prevented them from truly turning the game around.

More generally, the  unforced errors  will have weighed heavily:  43 for the Franco-Argentine pair versus 32 for Borrero / Navarro In a match where the two teams were evenly matched, these inaccuracies ultimately made the difference.

Léa Godallier and Daiara Valenzuela therefore lost 6/4 7/6 as soon as they entered the fray A disappointment for the Frenchwoman on home soil, in a first round that seemed particularly open and where there was clearly room to do better.

I discovered padel directly during a tournament, and frankly, I didn't really like it at first. But the second time, it was love at first sight, and since then, I haven't missed a single match. I'm even ready to stay up until 3am to watch a final of Premier Padel !
