Thomas Leygue will indeed be on the main list of the Alpine Paris Major.  Associated to  Jesus Moya The Frenchman had to dig deep to overcome  Manuel Aragón Herrera / Albert Roglan Pons  in three sets,  7/5 4/6 6/4 , after more than  2h15 of combat .

This qualification has a special significance for Leygue. Not selected as a wildcard for the main draw, the Frenchman earned his place on the court, spurred on by the crowd.  Philippe-Chatrier  and by his family present in the stands.

Leygue / Moya take control

Both pairs arrive with confidence. Aragón/Roglan have just defeated the  3rd seed Marcos González / Martin Abud , while Leygue / Moya had cruised through their first-round match against  Miguel Lamperti / Ferran Insa, 6/3 6/1 .

From the very first games, Leygue seemed to be on a mission. Even without necessarily playing his best padel, the Frenchman remained focused and relied on his  very high lobs  to repel her opponents. At her side, Moya does a lot of damage overhead.

The 5th seed quickly takes the lead and finds himself at  5/4, service to follow But just as she was about to close out the set, she faltered and was broken. Leygue and Moya didn't panic, however: they immediately went on the offensive, broke back, and ultimately clinched the first set.  7/5 .

Aragón / Roglan take advantage of a dip in form

The dynamics change in the second set.  Leygue / Moya decrease in intensity  and accumulate more avoidable mistakes. Aragón/Roglan take advantage to take the lead.

The Franco-Spanish players find the resources to break back, but immediately return their service. An irregularity that proves costly.

Aragón/Roglan seized the opportunity and drew level by taking the second set.  6/4 .

Four missed match points before the victory

Everything then came down to a tense third set. This time,  Leygue is clearly raising his level and wearing his pair  in the crucial moments. The two teams remained neck and neck until Leygue/Moya finally found the opening to take a valuable lead.

À  5/3 They earn several match points, but the tension mounts. Moya commits several unforced errors and  Four opportunities to score slip away Aragón and Roglan remain alive and the match seems to have a completely different outcome.

But Leygue/Moya don't give up. Despite these missed opportunities, they immediately go back into the fray on the next play.

Boosted by the French crowd, they put their opponents under pressure one last time and finally found the break that secured the victory:  7/5 4/6 6/4 .

No wild card, but a place earned on the track

The joy of  Thomas Leygue  The timing of his final match speaks volumes. The Frenchman had not received a wild card for the main draw of this 2026 edition. He therefore had to go through qualifying and had no room for error.

Two victories later, here he is in the  main draw of the Paris Major .

After a perfectly controlled start and then a battle lasting more than two hours in the final round, Leygue has earned the right to continue the adventure at Roland-Garros.

It now remains to be seen  his opponent in the first round , hoping for a draw that could allow him to continue dreaming in front of the Parisian public.

Benjamin Dupouy

I discovered padel directly during a tournament, and frankly, I didn't really like it at first. But the second time, it was love at first sight, and since then, I haven't missed a single match. I'm even ready to stay up until 3am to watch a final of Premier Padel !
