A logical defeat against the favorites, but one that should not overshadow the excellent week achieved by the French pair in Senegal.

A final against the favorites

After their superb victory in the semi-final against the 2nd seed  Dora Chamli  et  Anastasiia Ryzhova  (6/3 7/6), Soubrié and Martin arrived with confidence for this final.

However, they faced the highest-ranked pair in the draw, composed of the Spanish  Ainize Santamaria Landa  (104th in the world) and the Portuguese  Clarinha Santos  (122th in the world).

Despite putting up a good fight, the French women never managed to take control of the match. The stronger favorites lived up to expectations and won in two sets.  6 / 3 6 / 2 .

A very positive week

This defeat should not overshadow the quality of the tournament achieved by the two French players.

Before the final, they had perfectly controlled their path, notably with a demonstration in the quarter-final against  Marina Fakhry  et  Lamia Dayel Niang  (6/1 6/1).

The highlight of their week will undoubtedly remain their semi-final victory against the second seed, achieved in particularly difficult conditions with intense heat and high humidity. It was a victory secured through sheer willpower, confirming their ability to compete with higher-ranked players.
