On world number 1, Agustín Tapia and Arturo Coello, once again asserted their supremacy on the circuit Premier Padel. After their defeat last week at the Germany P2, the Golden Boys took their revenge on Ale Galán and Fede Chingotto (world No. 2) by winning 6 / 3 7 / 6 in the final of Rotterdam P1A solid, symbolic and meaningful success, since it allows them to remind us who the bosses of world padel are.
A one-way first round
Tapia and Coello entered the match perfectly. From the first exchanges, Tapia sparkles et Coello imposes his powerThe break falls quickly, and the number 1s unfold their game, untouchable when they are in such a state of confidence, both together at the same time. Opposite, Galán struggles to find his rhythm, frustrated and often under pressure. Chingotto, usually so precise, is jostled on its diagonal. Result: 6/3 for the leaders of the classification, who won the first act.
Galán and Chingotto react, without taking concrete action
The second set starts with the same dynamic: entry break for Tapia and Coello, but this time, the number 2s respond immediately. The match becomes more balanced. Galán begins to let loose with madness, and finds sensations in smash, while Chingotto regains length and impact on Coello. At 2/2 40/30 Coello service, a little moment of fear: Chingotto twists his ankle trying to defend a ball. The crowd holds its breath... but the Argentinian gets up after a few minutes and starts again, tireless.
Galán also breaks the rhythm several times., by stopping the game, a strategy at the Lebrón to chop up the game? All this pushes the exchanges to stretch out until tie-breaker. But as is often the case, the Coello's cold efficiency et Wall make the difference: 7 points to 4, victory in two sets.

The figures confirm the domination
This success is the tenth title of the 2025 season for Tapia and Coello, their 27th set, and their 40th in careerThey continue their series with 13 finals played this season, confirming their status as dominant pair on the circuit and undisputed leaders of the world ranking.
For Galán and Chingotto, the observation is more bitter: it has now been 455 days that they didn't beat the number 1s in two consecutive tournaments. Their last series of this kind dates back to Rome and Genoa 2024, a feat they have never managed to replicate.
Tapia sticks to Galán
This victory also has a symbolic significance: Tapia joins Galán with 50 career titles, proof that the rivalry between the two men has reached a historic peak. The face-off between the two best pairs in the world now shows 16 wins to 7 for Tapia and Coelloincluding 6 to 2 on the 2025 season.
The message is clear : You can beat them once, but not twice. In Rotterdam, Tapia and Coello reminded everyone that, even when they are pushed around, they remain the kings of world padel.
I discovered padel directly during a tournament, and frankly, I didn't really like it at first. But the second time, it was love at first sight, and since then, I haven't missed a single match. I'm even ready to stay up until 3am to watch a final of Premier Padel !
