The world of padel says goodbye to one of its emblematic figures: Fernando Belasteguín, affectionately known as “Bela” ou “the boss”.
The Milano Premier Padel P1, which took place from December 2nd to 8th, marked the end of an era with Bela's last professional match. This historic tournament opens a new chapter, that of an extended collaboration with Wilson Sporting Goods, testifying that a champion's legacy does not end when he retires.
With 30 years of competition et 230 titles won in 286 finals, Bela reigned supreme over padel. His 16 consecutive years as world number one illustrate a domination that goes beyond simple numbers. But it is above all its work ethic, love of sport, and his ability to inspire generations which make him a legend.
Even after he puts away his racket, Bela will remain a key figure as a member of the Wilson Advisory Staff. He will continue to play a key role in the development of high-performance products, strengthening his bond with Wilson and leaving an even deeper mark on padel.
During this final tournament, Bela was proudly represented by his favorite equipment, the Bela v2.5This iconic partnership between the Argentine player and Wilson, marked by years of success, was celebrated throughout the event in Milan.
“Some athletes mark an era. Others redefine history. Fernando Belasteguín, our beloved Bela, is one of them. In addition to his performances, he embodied excellence, passion and perseverance on the field.”
