The curtain has fallen on the  Buenos Aires P1 2026 , but the tournament's immense popular success continues to generate discussion. With more than  16 900 spectators  During the semi-finals at Parque Roca, Argentina once again confirmed its central place in the world of padel.

In an interview with Brand Padel, the president of the Argentina Association of Padel (APA) ,  santiago brito , reflected on the tournament's success, Argentina's ambitions for the future… and his dream of one day seeing the  Premier Padel Finals  organized in Buenos Aires.

 Parque Roca definitively adopted 

For the second year in a row, the tournament was held at  Park Roca , a choice that Santiago Brito considers essential to the success of the event.

The organizer explains that this continuity has allowed them to correct the problems encountered during the first edition and to significantly improve the organization. Several new features have been implemented, including better separation between the training and competition tracks, as well as improvements to the infrastructure.

Among the most notable details: the installation of hydration points specifically dedicated to mate, a strong demand from the Argentinian public.

 A profitable tournament… but still economically fragile 

Despite its popularity, organizing a tournament Premier Padel In Argentina, it remains a significant economic challenge.

With significant inflation and high organizational costs, discussions to extend the event into 2027 are still ongoing. Premier Padel has already submitted a new proposal to the APA.

“Our desire is there, Premier’s too, but the tournament remains expensive and we must proceed with caution,” explains Santiago Brito.

 A Major in Argentina? “Today, it’s not viable.” 

These last weeks,  Fernando Belasteguín  had mentioned his dream of one day seeing a  Major  organized in Argentina.

But for Santiago Brito, the economic reality remains too complicated today:

"Financially, it's not viable. The costs and prize money of a Major are almost twice those of a P1."

The president of the APA, however, believes that a  P2  additional in another Argentinian city such as  Cordoba  ou  Mendoza  would be much more realistic.

 Argentina wants a second date on the calendar 

The topic comes up constantly in discussions: why does Argentina, the historical country of padel, only have one tournament? Premier Padel on the calendar?

For Brito, this situation remains difficult to understand:

"Everyone wants a second date. Me too. But it depends on Premier Padel »

After the record attendances recorded in Buenos Aires over the last two years, the pressure is clearly starting to mount for Argentina to gain a more prominent place in the international calendar.

 The dream of the Premier Finals in Buenos Aires 

But the main objective mentioned by Santiago Brito probably remains the organization of the  Premier Padel Finals  in Argentina.

Traditionally held in Barcelona or Madrid, the Finals represent the end-of-season tournament bringing together the best male and female players in the world.

And for Brito, Argentina is fully capable of hosting such an event:

"I think it would be totally feasible in Argentina. It's an idea I've already proposed to Premier Padel »

The leader confirms that discussions have already taken place in the past, even though Barcelona seemed locked down to host the event at the time.

But the idea remains very much alive:

"If there's one country that should raise its hand, it's us."

After the exceptional atmosphere experienced at Parque Roca, it is difficult to imagine today that Argentina will not quickly regain more weight in the world calendar.
