The first event of the year, the  Riyadh P1  has already reshaped several balances in the  FIP ranking  and provided an initial assessment of the forces at play for 2026.

Tapia / Coello widen the gap

At men's,  Agustín Tapia  et  Arturo Coello  kick off the season with a title against  Galan / Chingotto  (6/4 6/2).
Beyond the trophy, they extend their lead to  more than 2 points  at the top of the rankings ( 19,800 versus 17,740 ), a mattress that allows them to control the start of the year.

Behind,  Juan Lebrón  enjoys his semi-final with  Leo Augsburg  to pass  No. 5 worldwide , before  Franco Stupaczuk .
Paquito Navarro  goes back to the  7th place , while the absence of  Coki Nieto  makes him back away  9th rank .

 Emerging pairs to watch

The tournament also highlighted the progress of  Javi Martinez / Rama Valenzuela , quarter-finalists in Riyadh.
They win  14 seats each  and are getting closer to  top 60 .

 Ari/Ustero make a strong start

For women, the new association  Ariana Sánchez / Andrea Ustero  They made a lasting impression with a title in their first tournament together, after a comeback in the final against  Triay / Brea  (3/6 6/1 6/4).

In the ranking,  Ari Sánchez  consolidates its  3th place in the world  and exceeds  Paula Josemaría , While  Andrea Ustero  continues its rise and becomes  n ° 7 worldwide  just  18 years .

On your mind,  Triay / Brea  remain co-number 1 with  18 300 points , but the gap is narrowing.

 The RACE is launched

With Riyadh and the  FIP Platinum of Marseille , the  Race 2026  begins to take shape.
Without surprise,  Tapia / Coello  lead to men, while  Ari / Ustero  occupy first place on the women's side.

This is still an early ranking, but it will count towards qualification for the  Premier Padel Barcelona Finals , reserved for  16 best players of the season .

 An initial hierarchy, still evolving

This first tournament confirms the dominance of  Tapia / Coello , RELAUNCH  Lebrón install  Ari / Ustero  as credible contenders and highlights new pairs on the rise.
The hierarchy is in place, but the long timetable still leaves room for movement.

Benjamin Dupouy

I discovered padel directly during a tournament, and frankly, I didn't really like it at first. But the second time, it was love at first sight, and since then, I haven't missed a single match. I'm even ready to stay up until 3am to watch a final of Premier Padel !
