This is the good news of the day in Italy, the qualifications of the  FIP Silver Sandigliano  took place today and we can already announce that an additional French pair  will be in the main draw of this tournament. Even before playing the  last qualifying round, Thomas Basso  et  Jeremy Robert  are already assured of having their  place for the main table  !

Two wins in Italy to start

The two young Lyonnais won yesterday at the  first round  qualifications against  Antoniazzi/Bulgarelli 6/3 6/4 , a solid start to acclimatize to the conditions before a big match today against the number 3 seed in the qualifiers: Calzada/Calzada.

A match that  will not go to its term , the two Spaniards  give up in the first set  while  Basso/Robert led 5/1 , a godsend for our French who reached the last round of qualifications, synonymous with  passage in table.  

Withdrawals in the main draw which benefit the French

As we have seen in recent weeks in FIP tournaments, many main draw pairs are  withdraw at the last moment  and therefore offer  additional places . Initially,  4 teams  were supposed to reach the main table but they are  finally 8 teams  qualifications that will take place in this table. That's why, even before playing, we can already announce that  Thomas Basso and Jeremy Robert  will come and add their names to the  list of French people engaged in Italy. 

A first round identical to last week?

In the  possible draws  of our young French people, we find  Fonteny/Boronad,  a clash that took place last week at  FIP Silver of Narbonne  and who had  turned to the advantage of Timéo and Yoan.   Thomas Basso and Jeremy Robert  may also fall on other French people,  Arthur Hugounenq  et  Nicolas Rouanet  but also on top world players  like the Melendez brothers.
