At the beginning of Ti Break, new indoor padel complex near Brest, there's a family discussion, a real passion for the game and above all a clear idea: to do things seriously. Starring Ewen Verveur, alongside his cousin Brendan Chardonnet, captain of Brest Stadium 29The project matured for nearly four years before reaching a conclusion. This new club embodies strong choices, both technical and human, to establish itself permanently in the landscape of Breton padelMeeting with its creator.

From a passion for players to a real club project

Padel didn't come into Ewen Verveur's life by chance. Coming from the squash A competitor at heart, he discovered the sport thanks to his cousin Brendan, who was already hooked. Very quickly, the game became central.
Repeated tournaments, specific physical preparation, reflection on performance: padel goes beyond the realm of leisure. Naturally, the discussion drifts to the post-football career and an opportunity that is still largely untapped in Brest: a private indoor padelstructured and ambitious.

Building rather than renting: a significant choice

Taking up padel in Brittany is no easy feat. Back in the days of the first banking appointments, the sport was still poorly identified locally.
“Some banks didn’t even know what padel was,” explains Ewen Verveur. Especially since the Ti Break project makes the bold choice to build the building from A to Z, and not to move into an existing space. A riskier gamble, but also more consistent with a vision long term.

Funding, building permits, administrative authorizations… The process is long and sometimes fraught with obstacles. As a result: nearly four years of work before an official opening in June. A timeframe taken into account from the outset, serving a well-thought-out project and expert appraisal.

Technical partners at the heart of the project

To guarantee a level of play and comfort that meets current expectations, the choice of partners was crucial.
On the field side, Ti Break relies on the expertise of Padelcourt, selected after consultation with several market players. Guidance on potential solutions, technical advice, comprehensive support: the discussions quickly established a clear and structured framework.

Another striking feature of the complex is the tensile fabric roof designed with LauraluAn architectural, ecological and strategic choice.
The goal is simple: maximize natural light and limit energy consumption, while integrating into a local environment already familiar with this type of infrastructure. A strategy considered from the outset of the project.

A padel game that respects itself, right down to the details.

For Ewen Verveur, it's impossible to improvise the creation of a club today. The players have evolved, and so have their expectations.
Ceiling height, lighting, court quality, overall atmosphere: everything must be consistent. "Below a certain level of expectation, players stop coming," he summarizes. Padel is no longer just a Sunday sport, but a competitive discipline, publicized and organized.

In this context, the project was supported by the French Tennis Federation, in particular via Yann Auradou who provided valuable advice on meeting the standards required to host major competitions. Locally, the expertise of David Thepot, president of ATP Le Trez-Hir, and of Jeremy NédelecThe club's referee-judge also played a role in building a credible and recognized tool.
