Le  Valencia Premier Padel P1  is now underway. While the women's qualifying rounds continued on Monday, the men's main draw made its debut with a day marked by several three-set battles and a few surprises.

A cruel end for Carla Touly and Amanda Lopez Moral

The most striking image of the day unfortunately came from the women's painting.

Opposed to  Léa Godallier and Ariadna Cañellas Rodero  in the last round of qualifying,  Carla Touly and Amanda Lopez Moral  They were playing an extremely close match when an incident brought everything to a halt.

With the first set going to a tiebreak and the score at 3-2, Amanda Lopez Moral collapsed after a fall. Following a lengthy interruption and an attempt to resume play, the Spaniard was ultimately forced to retire.

A frustrating outcome for the Franco-Spanish pair who had taken control of the match, notably leading 4-1 in the set before the return of Godallier and Cañellas.

This qualification allows  Léa Godallier  to join the main draw of the Valence P1 where she will face Sainz / Montes in the 1st round.

Valenzuela creates a surprise

In the other women's qualifying matches,  Daiara Valenzuela  et  Ana Domínguez  They delivered a great performance by eliminating the 8th seed,  Monica Gomez  et  Martha Arellano , at the end of a 2.5-hour fight that concluded with a score of  6/3 2/6 6/4 .

On their side,  Leticia Manquillo / Noemí Aguilar  et  Barbara Las Heras / Carla Mesa  They secured their qualification without hesitation.

A rocky start for men

The men's main draw offered several very close matches.

The battle of the day has returned to  Alvaro Montiel and Flavio Abbate , winners of  Santiago Pineda and Diego Garcia  after nearly three hours of effort:  7/6 6/7 7/5 .

The same scenario played out for several other posters:

  •  Luis Hernández / Lucho Capra  fight  Arnau Ayats / Denis Perino  : 7/6 6/4
  •  Miguel Benitez / Aris Patiniotis  overturn  Manu Aragón / Albert Roglán  : 2/6 7/6 6/3
  •  Manu Castaño / Xisco Gil  dominate the wildcard  Naranjo / Sánchez  : 6/4 4/6 7/6
  •  Alonso Rodriguez / Juani De Pascual  spread apart  Vilariño / Martínez  : 6/3 6/7 6/2

Goenaga and Fernández Lancha overthrow Collado and Hernández

One of the day's surprises came from  Andrés Fernández Lancha and Enrique Goenaga .

Trailing after the first set against  Pol Hernandez and Guille Collado They completely reversed the trend to prevail.  3/6 7/6 6/2  and move on to the next round.

Same reaction capacity for  Pablo Lijó and Pablo García who were able to take advantage of the Deus brothers' lack of rhythm to win  3/6 6/2 6/1 .

Other notable results

Among the notable results of this first day:

  •  Chozas / Libaak  fight  González / Abud  : 6/4 6/4

Benjamin Dupouy

I discovered padel directly during a tournament, and frankly, I didn't really like it at first. But the second time, it was love at first sight, and since then, I haven't missed a single match. I'm even ready to stay up until 3am to watch a final of Premier Padel !
