Yungas / Nieto vs Leal / Guerrero: Roman revenge

The first round offers us a remake of Italy Major. Mike Yanguas and Coki Nieto, seeded 4, will meet Javi Leal and Fran Guerrero, who had eliminated them in Rome. A high-intensity match, especially since Leal and Guerrero are coming out of the Italy Major full of confidence.

Coello at home, chingalán against Gutiérrez and Chozas

The World number 1 Tapia and Coello will start against a pair from the qualifiers. In case of victory, Arturo could face his brother Rodrigo, engaged with Insa, for an unprecedented duel in the last sixteen.

On their side, Galan and Chingotto will start against Sanyo Gutiérrez and Álex Chozas (who will experience their final campaign together in Valladolid). A potential semi-final against Lebrón / Stupaczuck is on everyone's mind... if everything goes as planned.

Unreleased pairs and forced substitutions

Absence due to injury of Tino Libaak (back) and Martín Di Nenno (ankle) forced some adjustments. So, Juan Tello will play with Lamperti, While Javi Garrido teams up with Diego GilTwo ephemeral pairs but not without ambition.

Other debuts to follow: Campagnolo and David Gala confront from the outset Momo Gonzalez and Jon Sanz, a match that felt like a test for these new duos.

Women's table: new alliances and explosive crossover

In the women's competition, the top eight seeds are exempt from the first round. Two new pairs are causing a sensation : Tamara Icardo joins Marta Ortega, While Claudia Jensen teams up with Alejandra AlonsoBoth will have to quickly find their marks in very competitive sections of the table.

Triay and Brea, just crowned in Rome, are at the top of the hierarchy. They share their half of the table with Bea González and Claudia Fernández, with whom they could meet in the semi-final. A clash between former teammates not to be missed if this is confirmed.
