The World Padel League (WPL) 2026 — Season 4 — takes place from August 12 to 16, 2026 at the Dome, SVP Stadium, in Mumbai, India. Six franchises and 36 international players, including three former world number 1s and more than ten champions, will compete. Premier Padel, compete in a new format combining league phase, elimination, qualifying, semi-finals and final.
What is the World Padel League?
The World Padel League is a professional team padel league, licensed and operated by Iconik Sports and Events Ltd. Launched to support the spectacular rise of padel in India, it brings together each year players from the international circuit (Spain, Argentina, Brazil, Portugal in particular) within “T20 cricket” style franchises, a short and spectacular format designed for the Indian public.
Mahesh Bhupathi, co-founder of the league, summarized the ambition of the project: each season of the World Padel League confirms the growing momentum of padel in India, a country which he believes has become one of the most interesting growth stories of padel globally.

This is the fourth edition of the competition, which this year is changing dimensions with a new, larger venue, six franchises (compared to four previously) and the highest level of players in its history.
2026 Competition Format
Unlike previous editions, where four teams competed in a classic round-robin before a final between the top two, Season 4 adopts a more compact format adapted to six teams:
- League phase (August 12-14): Each franchise plays two games in the first three days.
- Elimination and qualifying rounds (August 15): The teams ranked 5th and 6th face off in a knockout match; the winner then faces the team ranked 4th in the qualifying round.
- Semi-finals and final (August 16): The two semi-finals are followed by the grand final, played on the same evening.

The rise of the World Padel League is part of a broader underlying trend. According to India Padel A 2026 report published by Hudle and CAA Portas predicts that the Indian padel market will grow from approximately $25-30 million to $250-300 million by 2036. The number of players has increased from 500-1,000 in 2022 to nearly 100,000 in 2025 — a growth that largely explains the expansion of the league, now organized in a larger venue with two additional franchises compared to the previous season.
